La Dimora di San Maurizio 4 is the spectacular penthouse apartment within La Dimora di San Maurizio, an entire five-storey VOV-owned palazzo in one of the most prestigious parts of Venice’s San Marco sestiere. Beautifully restored with sympathy for the building’s historic character and finished with bespoke interiors, this exceptional home combines Venetian heritage with vibrant contemporary style.

Positioned in a pretty pink palazzo opposite the Museum of Music in sunny Campo San Maurizio, the residence sits between the cafés of Santo Stefano and the luxury boutiques around St Mark’s Square. The world-famous La Fenice Opera House is within an easy stroll, as is the Gritti Palace’s Riva Lounge on the Grand Canal.

La Dimora di San Maurizio 4 sleeps up to 8 guests and occupies the 4th and 5th floors. The lift serves the 4th floor, with stairs continuing to the 5th. Six tall windows at the front overlook the Campo towards the distinctive bell tower of Santo Stefano. The apartment is decorated in sophisticated shades of samphire and seagrass and benefits from a wonderful furnished south-facing terrace.

LIVING & DINING

The plush sitting room is decorated in sumptuous samphire and seagrass greens, with exposed wooden timbers overhead and wooden flooring topped by a Kilim rug. A large L-shaped double sofa bed provides generous lounging space, creating a comfortable setting for relaxing together while enjoying the views.

The fully fitted kitchen and dining room is also positioned at the front of the apartment. Integrated appliances make the kitchen practical for everyday use, while the dining suite seats eight guests and additional bar stools provide seating for two.

The green and purple colour scheme takes inspiration from the prized Castruare of Sant’Erasmo, the distinctive purple artichoke grown on the nearby island and beloved by Venetian cooks.

MASTER BEDROOM

The ravishing master bedroom faces Campo San Maurizio and features a gorgeous double bed dressed in restful clay tones. Oriental-style lanterns sit to either side, while a custom-made wardrobe provides storage.

The bedroom has its own fresh hematite-grey bathroom with a luxurious walk-in shower.

SECOND BEDROOM & TERRACE

The second double bedroom is positioned towards the rear of the palazzo and is furnished with a beautifully upholstered double bed and fine linens.

A dainty custom-made wardrobe adds practical storage, while the bedroom benefits from its own separate bathroom with bathtub and hand-held shower.

The highlight is the bedroom’s direct access to a spacious furnished terracotta terrace. South-facing and peacefully tucked away, the terrace offers hidden glimpses over the neighbouring palazzi and provides a beautiful private outdoor space for relaxing.

THIRD BEDROOM

Stairs lead to the 5th floor, where the apartment’s delightful third bedroom is located.

This dual-aspect double bedroom is decorated in sandy neutral tones and features a double bed beneath a timbered ceiling, together with a custom-made wardrobe.

The bedroom also has its own en-suite bathroom with a luxurious walk-in shower.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

The apartment sleeps up to 8 guests and comprises three double bedrooms plus a double sofa bed in the sitting room.

All three double beds can be converted into two single beds upon request, providing flexibility for families, friends and other groups travelling together.

There are three bathrooms in total, with the master bedroom and third bedroom each having an en-suite shower room, while the second bedroom has its own separate bathroom with bathtub and hand-held shower.

LOCATION

La Dimora di San Maurizio is ideally positioned in the heart of San Marco, opposite the Museum of Music on Campo San Maurizio.

The cafés of Santo Stefano, the boutiques surrounding St Mark’s Square and the celebrated La Fenice Opera House are all close by. The Gritti Palace’s Riva Lounge on the Grand Canal is also within easy reach for an elegant Venetian evening.

The apartment provides a wonderful base for exploring Venice on foot, with the atmosphere of Campo San Maurizio right outside and the city's most famous sights nearby.

A LARGER GROUP?

Guests travelling as part of a larger party can reserve additional apartments within La Dimora di San Maurizio. Three other deluxe apartments are available: Apartment 1, Apartment 2 and Apartment 3.

This allows larger groups to stay close together while retaining the privacy and independence of separate apartments within the same palazzo.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

La Dimora di San Maurizio 4 is air-conditioned and accessible by lift to the 4th floor, with stairs required to reach the 5th floor.

Please note that air-conditioning and heating are subject to Venice municipality regulations. Generally, heating is available from mid-October to mid-April, while air-conditioning is available from mid-April to mid-October. Please contact the host for further information.

Rates include gas, electricity, bed linen, towels, final cleaning, welcome on arrival and check-in up until 20:00. Air-conditioning and internet access are included when available at the chosen apartment. Telephone charges, where applicable, are extra.

Stays of more than seven nights also include a weekly change of bed linen and towels.

CHECK-IN & TOURIST TAX

Standard check-in is from 15:00 to 20:00. Arrivals before 15:00 can be arranged upon request.

Arrivals between 20:00 and midnight incur a €50 fee, payable in cash upon arrival. Check-in between midnight and 1:00 a.m. can be arranged with a €100 surcharge. Arrivals after 1:00 a.m. can only be organised upon request.

The Venice Tourist Tax is €4 per person per night and is charged for the first five consecutive nights. It is payable in cash in euros upon arrival.
