Set above downtown Colfax with views across the rolling Palouse, Hillside Haven is a cozy, character-filled two-bedroom retreat with plenty of room to settle in and feel at home.

The private upper-level residence includes a king bedroom, queen bedroom, full bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, spacious living and dining areas, private garage, and a large furnished deck overlooking the surrounding hills and treetops.

Inside, Hillside Haven has the warmth and personality of a home rather than a hotel. Vintage furnishings, collected artwork, botanical details, books, games, and thoughtful touches throughout give the space its own character while keeping it comfortable and welcoming.

The Space

The primary bedroom features a king bed and its own 55” TV, while the second bedroom has a queen bed. The spacious living room offers plenty of room to relax together, whether you’re winding down after a day exploring the Palouse, visiting family, or spending the weekend at WSU.

The full kitchen makes longer stays easy, with space to cook, gather, and enjoy meals at home. We provide coffee, decaf, tea, and a few basic kitchen essentials to help get you started.

One of our favorite parts of the house is the large deck. Furnished for relaxing outside, it sits above the trees with views of the Palouse—a lovely place for morning coffee, an evening drink, or simply watching the light change over the hills.

Guests also have use of a private garage, a particularly nice perk during colder weather or busy event weekends.

A Great Home Base for Colfax & WSU

Hillside Haven is located in the heart of Colfax, within walking distance of downtown and an easy drive to Pullman and Washington State University.

It’s an especially convenient home base for Cougar football weekends, graduation, Family Weekend, campus visits, Move-In Weekend, parents visiting students, or anyone who wants to stay close to Pullman while enjoying a quieter place to come home to at the end of the day.

And Colfax is worth exploring in its own right. Wander downtown, grab coffee, explore local shops, or head out to see some of the landscapes that make the Palouse such a beautiful corner of Washington.

Your Privacy

Hillside Haven is a completely private upper-level residence with its own guest space and no shared indoor living areas.

The property does include a separate occupied lower-level residence, so you may occasionally hear the normal sounds of everyday living. We want guests to know that upfront, but the two living spaces are separate and your stay is your own.

We’ll give you plenty of space to settle in and enjoy your visit, while remaining nearby if you need anything. The easiest way to reach us during your stay is through messaging.
