Hus Flåten – Holiday Home near the Lake with Boat and Barrel Sauna in Småland

Hus Flåten is a cosy holiday home in Småland, quietly located in the forest near Järnforsen and only around 100 metres from a lake. With a rowing boat, canoe, two kayaks, fireplace and an optional barrel sauna, the house is a great choice for families, couples, anglers and dog owners who want to spend their holiday in Sweden surrounded by nature.

With around 65 m² of living space, Hus Flåten accommodates up to four guests. There are two sleeping areas. The separate bedroom has a double bed measuring 180 x 200 cm. The second sleeping area has two single beds. This room is designed as a walk-through room without its own separate door and is therefore particularly suitable as a children’s room.

The house was last renovated in 2024 and is comfortably furnished. The living area features a sofa, armchair and dining area. A fireplace creates a warm and cosy atmosphere, especially on cooler evenings. Firewood is available on site.

For entertainment, Wi-Fi, a Smart TV with internet television and board games are available. Fly screens provide additional comfort during the summer months.

The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering. Facilities include a hob, oven, fridge-freezer and coffee machine.

The bathroom has a shower and toilet.

A particularly pleasant feature is the covered terrace with views towards the lake. Here you can sit outside even when the weather is changeable and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The approximately 1,200 m² plot offers plenty of space in the greenery. A garden swing, outdoor sofa, sun loungers and a charcoal barbecue are also available. There is also a barbecue and fire pit area for cosy evenings outdoors.

The lake is only around 100 metres from the holiday home. There you will find a jetty and a bathing rock, allowing you to reach the water within just a few minutes. The house’s rowing boat is located at the lake and can be used during your stay.

In addition, one Canadian canoe and two single kayaks are available. This makes it easy to explore the peaceful lakes around Järnforsen from the water.

The lake is also very attractive for anglers. A fishing permit, known as a Fiskekort, is required. The permit costs only around €8 per week and allows fishing in several lakes in the surrounding area. The rowing boat is ideal for relaxing fishing trips on the lake.

Another highlight is the wood-fired barrel sauna. It can be booked optionally for €50 per week and offers a relaxing sauna experience after a day by the lake, hiking or on cooler evenings.

Up to three dogs are welcome at Hus Flåten, making the house a good choice for guests travelling to Sweden with several dogs.

The location combines plenty of peace and quiet with good opportunities for day trips. The area around Järnforsen is characterised by forests, lakes and typical Småland scenery. At the same time, Vimmerby is within easy reach and is ideal for a day trip to Astrid Lindgren’s World and other attractions connected with the home region of Astrid Lindgren.

Hus Flåten is a non-smoking property. Bed linen and towel packages can be booked optionally for €20 per person. Electricity is charged according to actual consumption at €0.55 per kWh. A security deposit of €150 is required for the stay.

During the high season, arrival and departure are only possible on Saturdays. In the low season, other arrival and departure days as well as shorter stays are also possible.
