The front desk staff were very friendly. Our room was impeccably clean with everything in working order. The breakfast buffet was the best I have ever experienced in a hotel. There was just enough seating to accommodate the guests that were present at any one time. The location, just a couple blocks from the steps leading up to the Citadel was perfect.
It was just a small issue but, at first, I thought that the kitchen was poorly equipped with plates, silverware, etc. until we found more than half of the stock left in the dishwasher by the previous guests. Perhaps housekeeping should make it a point to unload the dishwasher before new guests arrive. I also thought that the fee charged for parking was excessive, but that's Halifax.

Friendly staff and super comfy room, as well as a great location in downtown Halifax.
The room was large and the bed was excellent. Breakfast was good too.
Needed some cleaning behind the couch, but that's all.

It was a very comfy room with lots of space and good facilities.
It was a bit shabby - torn sheer curtains carpet a bit worn.

Location was great. Beds were comfortable.
Furniture and carpets were dirty/stained. Room was dated/worn out. Price was very high CAD 400 per night for a basic room) and quality felt like a 2⭐️ hotel.
