Forest Park Hotel

Staff on reception were very helpful and friendly. Room was a generous size, and the lounge area by the fire was a fabulous place to relax and meet friends.

The hotel is partway through being renovated, with large machinery outside. Location of the rooms was hard to fathom, with inadequate signage - we passed a number of people who were really struggling to find the way to their room.

Just an overnight stay before boarding the Rocky Mountaineer, adequate but not long enough to really evaluate. There were restaurants a short walk away but beware some require advance booking. It was walking distance from the railway station and the Avis drop off office. A very friendly Rocky Mountaineer representative was present to provide our information pack and answer questions.

The hotel is enormous and it was a long walk to our room so if you have mobility issues it could be a problem. The room wasn't very big but adequate with a nice bathroom.

Because of renovations and building work , no restaurant or bar facilities in actual building…. but we knew that when booking. Eating facilities were provided over the road at The Marmott.

The room was nice and the bed very comfortable.

It was hectic when checking in with staff responding to other people's questions throughout the check in process. While I accept that work has to be done on the hotel, our room was a long way from reception with no clear signage so we were wandering around with heavy cases trying to find the way to our room. The easiest way through the hotel via a connecting corridor was not open until 5pm (check in was 4pm) and it was closed again by 7.30am in the morning. Even this way, the signage was poor and we kept seeing people wandering around looking for their rooms. It was so confusing. There were no lifts to our room so we had to carry 2 heavy cases up and down 3 flights of stairs which was awful. While the room was clean, there was a camera left in the bathroom between 2 towels so it wasnt cleaned thoroughly. There were also no instructions on using the coffee machine either so we couldn't use it. It was an okay stay but I cant say more than that sadly.
