Travelodge by Wyndham Owen Sound ON

Beds were comfy and the pillows felt like "I want to bring one home". Literally across the street from a Tim Horton's and only a 5 minute drive from our concert venue. Staff were lovely.

Only "really?" was that we were given the room immediately in the hall once people left the reception desk. It wasn't unsafe, or really loud - but it felt like we were given the "oh, they booked thru" and was a "throw away" room. Just a feeling. It would be nice to have another available garbage container other than the one in the lobby to get rid of breakfast plates, cups and banana peels.

Staff were pleasant, helpful, and professional. Room was fine. Same with the "free" breakfast. Facility is clean and is in good repair. Bed and bedding were comfortable, towels are typical, shower worked well. Convenient location; it's right on the corner of two major roads, which can be congested. Nonetheless, our room was quiet (it faced the back). Wi-fi works well. We stayed during the Cobble Beach Concours, so it was full, and the staff handled everything well. Wall unit hair dryer didn't work but a backup was thoughtfuly provided in the closet.

HVAC unit was missing a knob, which affected adjustment; we didn't need to use it much anyway. The hotel offered online checkin, which was okay, but I spent a bit of time photographing and entering my Driver's Licence, only to have the front desk request to see it (so you can save some some time by not doing it in advance). I'm not a fan of Dynamic Pricing: we stayed Sunday night as well, and it was 2/3 the price of the Saturday night. But I suppose it's pretty common now. TV doesn't have "regular" cable; it's all streaming, likewise more common now. Likewise, we didn't use it much.

Great location. It was expected to be an average property, so no surprises. Wasn’t the cleanest but it was quiet and surprisingly the beds were comfortable. The a/c unit was not too loud and it did blast the room with coldness. Very low budget hotel but the price was right and there was availability on the long weekend

Not spotlessly clean, shabby interior definitely needs an update.
