Above Tide Motel

This motel is basic but the views are phenomenal. The sunset and sunrise look different every day, and we had such a wonderful time drinking coffee in bed and seeing whales over by quadra island. The place is a bit tired but we really did enjoy our stay, and the management were lovely. We’d definitely stay again - the balcony was so amazing to sit on. The kitchen was perfectly fine for cooking meals, and the fridge was a decent size. Laundry facilities were a bonus! We visited willow point, oyster pot holes, Englishman river, McIvor lake, cathedral grove, the museum… and Mikki’s for the best sushi (gluten free too!)

It was an older place but being looked after as a family now and it’s going to be a gem. Owner more than helpful about eating places and where to park free for whale watching Wonderful view of the water with tables to sit at outside and watch the evening arrive Parking a bit tight but owner advised on how to park to get back out to highway easily. The personality of the owner and a few upgrades will bring in repeat customers

Like most travellers we needed to reboot electronics. A few more outlets needed especially ones taking C units. They have lamps now with those units so that might help Rooms a bit tight for much luggage I took the lower units not realizing that meant taking outside strips to get to it. My friend is a bit arthritic But we managed

The room view was spectacular looking across the water toward Quadra Island and the mainland. It was a good base to travel to Elk Falls, the fish hatchery and other hiking options. We witnessed black bears at the fish hatchery feasting on salmon...

It was good value for the money.
