Marpole Guest House

We liked that it was in a quiet, leafy neighbourhood and not far from the airport after a long flight from Australia. The instructions for self check in were good and we did not meet the host during our stay. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom new and clean with a great shower. The common area was spacious and well equipped. We did not use the kitchen as we were only there for one night but it looked to have everything you would need for a longer stay.

The room was very small and the Wifi did not work well in the bedroom. But in the lounge area Wifi was fine.

Comfortable and clean space, we booked the king bed with its own bathroom and it suited our needs perfectly. The other guests were very respectful with noise and the space which was nice about our stay as well. We had clear instructions on how to let ourselves in and it was very easy.

It was a wee bit difficult finding the place, just have to pay attention to the house numbers! It's the door on the side of another home facing the street since the first house entrance is actually in the back. Not a big problem at all though! We still enjoyed our stay.

Location was very convenient. Owners are very caring, friendly and helpful.

Price was reasonable (comparably speaking to hotels in the area) and we were in a pinch for relatively last minute accommodations. Staff (the owner I believe) was nice and friendly upon arrival and departure. The room was clean and we had our own ensuite bathroom. Seemed like a fairly safe neighbourhood, though parking on the street seems to be at a premium.

It’s a shared 3 bedroom guesthouse, so if the other guests are noisy and you can’t sleep thru a train wreck, you’ll probably want to find something else. We did not get that good of a nights sleep due to the constant door closings with other guests getting up in the night and going to their shared bathroom. The shutters were broken on the window, which didn’t allow us to block out the setting sun (we were ahead by 3 hrs travelling from our time zone so we’re quite tired and wanted to get to sleep). If you can’t carry your luggage up to the second floor, then you will have a problem.
