Hofsas House Hotel

I had a great stay at Hofsas House in Carmel-by-the-Sea! I was able to check in around 12 PM since my room was already ready, which was a nice bonus! They also offer luggage storage in case your room isn’t ready when you arrive. The room had a bit of a 90s-style interior, but I honestly didn’t mind it at all! The room had a TV (I did not personally use). Both the room and bathroom were very clean. I stayed in a queen room, which was the perfect size for two people. One of my favorite parts was being able to see the ocean and watch the sunrise and sunset right from my window! The location was perfect! It’s about a 5-minute walk straight downhill to Ocean Avenue, where you’ll find plenty of shops and restaurants, and about a 15–20-minute walk to the beach. It’s also only about a 10-minute drive to the airport, Point Lobos, Pebble Beach, and downtown Monterey, making it a great central location for exploring the area! Every staff member I encountered was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They offer breakfast, although I never got around to trying it. There’s also a pool and sauna available for guests to use at no additional cost! Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Hofsas House! It was clean, comfortable, conveniently located, and had everything I needed. I would definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Carmel!

Very comfortable hotel, super attentive staff, breakfast served daily (the blueberry muffin is fantastic!), and excellent location (just a few blocks from Ocean Avenue).

The yogurt was Yoplait which is very high in sugar and low in protein. I asked if they had any low sugar options like Greek yogurt but they didn’t. I suggested unflavored yogurt (Greek) served with honey and walnuts or pistachios on the side for people to add. Their coffee was good. There were 3 kinds of fruit available to pick from.

I’m borderline diabetic so I wish the had so low carb options.

Sufficient breakfast Someone in the office made good Decaf coffee. .

We were on the first floor and had to walk up 3 flights of steps to the sidewalk and main entrance. The manager told us we were in the best location. No one told us an easier way to get to the sidewalk level until the last day when we saw a guest go through a door that said Office. We followed that person and that was 1 level from our room. BATHROOM: Shower handles did not work well. No instructions on how to use the coffee pot.
