The Old Bank House

The location is the BEST you can ask for in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and you can, practically, roll out of bed and be at lakeside! Our room and bed (West Room) were very comfortable, and we had an outside deck that overlooked the garden area. The shower and plumbing all worked well other than the sink drained a bit slowly. All 3 breakfasts that we had were delicious! The staff was friendly, helpful and polite. Keurig coffee and hot water/tea were available 24/7 and this is a BIG plus in my opinion. As an early riser, there is nothing I hate more in a B&B than to have to wait for morning coffee! The porch was a lovely place to start the morning, overlooking Royal Queen's Park and Lake Ontario. The common area was spacious and comfortable. DEFINITELY worth another stay!

Parking is the biggest downside to this B&B. A very small lot that barely accommodates 5 cars and, even then, it can be hard to maneuver to pull out. They DO provide reimbursement for street parking ($5.25CAD/Hour) between 10am-8pm if you park on the street. There is a free parking street about a block away, but you can't park overnight and it is competitive to find a spot during the day. It is also under trees and there is leaf and sap debris on your vehicle after a day's parking. The breakfast window is brief (8am-9am sharp) but that is not unusual in B&B's. The room TV's had instructions that were almost impossible to figure out but, who watches TV when in NOTL? Otherwise, there was VERY LITTLE not to like about The Old Bank House!

Fabulous property in a wonderful location. Very Historic building. Beautiful view of the Lake. Lovely breakfast and friendly welcoming staff. Loved everything about it .

Breakfast was very good…servers very nice Love the big porch and the great location.

Temperature control…either freezing or stuffy warm Disappointed in the room in general but everything seemed clean. Too few outlets for everything you have to plug in. Left a note about the dangerous step up in the bathroom.It was as if owners or main managers weren’t around much. Only people we saw were kitchen staff and cleaners. We brought our friends with and they had lots of complaints about how cold it was and spiders and noise at night and toilets not working properly. We were disappointed and embarrassed.
