Garner Hotel Del Valle - Austin Southeast by IHG

Bed were very comfortable and the AC was phenomenal. The lobby store was priced very reasonable. The staff was inviting and helpful. The rooms were clean and well kept.

There was some black stains on the sheets. The shower reached lukewarm at best. The mobile connection on the TVs were very difficult for iPhone users, but no issue with Android devices. The wifi was also a bit spotty. There was some scattered litter in the grassy areas creating a unappealing first impression.

It was updated.

What I liked about this stay is that it served its purpose for what I was looking for. I've never been to Austin prior to this stay and wanted a hotel close to the airport to cut down on travel time to the airport and unfamiliarity with the area getting to the airport.

I cant think of anything that I didnt like about the hotel or my stay.

The staff was GREAT!

The first room I was given had absolutely no window covering, no hanging fixtures in the bathroom on which to put towels, and one of the lamps was missing a bulb. I could not go without a window covering (for one, I'm very sensitive to light when I sleep), so I let the front desk know and she was able to move me. The next room all the lights worked and there were window coverings, places to hang hang towels. My only complaint about this room was that the shampoo was out in the shower and there was no body wash (luckily I took the Dove bar provided into the shower because I pretty to wash my face with that). I know they're working on remodeling (the elevator really needs a refresh, which I'm sure they'll get to it); however, I think it's important to pay attention to detail when remodeling to ensure things like window coverings aren't missed. Give them a few months and I'm sure it will be better. Again, the staff was great 😃
