It was very clean, quiet, and comfortable.

It was in a good location not far from everything

The door didn’t close all the way unless you pushed it the sink leaked some when turned on and the bathroom light blew

For years this has been our standby stop between the smokies and Northwest Illinois. We've always liked this place and the fact that it's just down the street from Cracker Barrel. The rooms are always super clean and the staff is always friendly . Nothing about that changed this time i'm not about all the glitzy and fancy decoration stuff. This time however I have to admit being a little disappointed. The room was so clean and comfortable though the lack of plugs was an issue. The plugs underneath the bedside table lamp didn't work. When we got up on the 3rd floor hallway there's a really funky smell and it was obvious that the floor had not been really vacuumed cleaned well and the walls really need a touch-up paint. In the bathroom towel bar came down off the wall and the rusty corroded hose connecting the wall to the toilet was really obvious. Nothing that was spectacular but it just made it more obvious this place needs a renewal touch up job done. The fan for the AC heating unit in the room oscillated and sometimes you could hear it turn up and then it would back off even though it was still on. Like I said nothing huge if all I want is a place to sleep for the night. However the condition of the walls and hallway really put me off and for the first time I checked the bed for bed bugs like I would in a substandard hotel . I don't think that's this one but you need to know that she needs some attention. I think you would want to know. I hate to see this wonderful place become shabby.
