Americas Best Value Inn Santa Rosa, New Mexico

We stayed for one night in October at America’s Best Value Inn in Santa Rosa and were really pleased with our stay. We arrived incredibly early — around four hours before the usual check-in time — and were absolutely delighted that the staff were able to let us check in early. After an early start and a long journey, this was such a welcome surprise, and we were very grateful. The staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating from the moment we arrived. The room was basic, but honestly, it had everything we needed and more. The bed was incredibly comfortable and very large, with two pillows each and lovely, fresh, white linen. There was also a sofa, desk and chair, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine and plenty of hanging space. The bathroom was compact but perfectly adequate. We had plenty of hot water and good water pressure, and the towels were fresh and clean. Complimentary toiletries were also provided, which was a nice touch. We also took advantage of the laundry facilities, which were incredibly convenient and only cost $5 for a wash and dry — very reasonable when you’re travelling. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay and felt very well looked after. For us, the combination of a comfortable bed, clean room, welcoming staff and useful facilities made this a great stopover. It’s also right on Route 66, which makes it particularly convenient if you’re travelling that route. If we’re passing through Santa Rosa again, we’d definitely consider staying here again. Very reasonable price. Better than expected. Had everything we needed. Water was hot, bed very comfortable, Park in front of room.

No pet relief area with grass. Ice machine worked but didn't keep up.

Typical motor court. Room was fine. Great water pressure in the shower. Good TV/cable. Conveniently located. Good value.

Minor annoyances, none of which would keep us from staying here again. When we arrived ice machine was off. In the morning, it was empty. Breakfast was minimal. We would have used the laundry facilities but stopped at a laundromat beforehand because the Booking listing didn't include it.

Everything was fine except the room had a weird smell. The bedding and linens were clean but maybe the rug or something had weird smell like an old nursing home
