Island Sun Inn & Suites - Historic Venice & Beach Getaway

Great location . Publix Supermarket is a short walk away . And I enjoyed the Swimming pool just outside my door . This was my 3rd stay . I like the place

Clean, well managed and attentive staff

That the pool was right out our back door, it was very clean and peaceful, staff cleaned our room everyday,

That the front door was in not such good shape

The bed was comfortable and had four pillows. The bathroom was small but adequate and clean. We didn't use the kitchen, but there was a stove, refrigerator, microwave. They were all older and mismatched, but clean. This was what would be called an efficiency, and there were utensils for cooking and eating. You can tell it's been remodeled, and seemed clean. The A/C worked well, although a little noisy, and there is a ceiling fan that worked and was quiet. The attached restaurant is 10 star awesome for breakfast!

I'm trying to be fair here, because the place is very old, thus there is a very old, musty, smell when you walk into the lobby and the room. There was a dead cockroach on the floor, but anyone who lives in Florida knows that cockroaches are a way of life, and at least it was dead. The furniture is pretty old and worn, but it's passable. The VERY WORST part was the couch. It was absolutely disgusting...dirt and stains from who knows what. It looked like something someone took to the curb and they picked it up. I didn't want to sit on it. Honestly, if the couch had been better, it would have made a big difference. So, if you are looking for the Ritz, this isn't it. If you want a passable hotel for a cheap price and you aren't picky, try it out. You can park right outside of your door. It is not within an easy walking distance from downtown as it advertises, unless you want to walk a lot. Not a bad location though. It's right on 41, and you can drive to downtown in five minutes. All in all, it's passable, but no more than three stars.
