I've only heard horror stories from people who stayed at motel 6 so I was expecting a terrible experience. It really wasn't that bad. Like sure, the room smelled like weed, the floors were dirty, the showers didn't have hot water, and there was zero soundproofing between the walls, but the place was lit up so brightly with spotlight beams and countless security cameras that it felt a tiny bit safe and tolerable. I was actually okay with my very nice car being parked in the parking lot

The low cost definitely attracts unique people. But that's just what you're going to get for a motel 6. I honestly felt like the motel was doing most that could be expected for prices that low. Having shampoo in the showers might be nice too. Cleaning hair with a bar soap is a bit awkward. The temperature wasn't great in the rooms but I visited when temperature outside was nice regardless.
