Location and the friendly staff .

Not enough parking spaces

great location, just a block from the beach. many food options nearby, friendly/helpful staff for recommendations, pool

a little run down, but still pleasant.

I was given my choice of room and floor, because I was one of the first out of town travelers to attend the airshow. I had contacted the hotel a month in advance. The one woman at the office was always available, and was pleasant enough.

Everything needs a serious repaint! Even the painted steps were worn down. The place looks like it was built in the 1980's and has remained untouched ever since! No security at all (not expected at this price) but a homeless guy sleeping in front of a door on the ground floor..? And arguments in the parking lot should be dispersed by someone other than a guest! Maybe this is what Virginia Beach has deminished into, because I haven't been in thirty years..
