Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Newport Cincinnati

The location was great.

Part of the ceiling in our room fell and water was pouring down, so we let the front desk employee know, but he didn’t apologize or seem to care. He just said “I’ll notify someone.” Also, the women working in the breakfast area did not seem happy.

Location and very clean. Super nice staff.

It would be fun to have a bar there.

I loved the location and we tend to choose Fairfield hotels due to free breakfast and the consistency of being clean.

I did not enjoy that the king room did not seem to have a king bed. Given that I have a king at home it was much smaller. Also the bathroom vanity lights did not work and there was no switch to turn on the fan in the bathroom. The toilet seat lid also fell off during our stay. Minor issues truthfully but important nonetheless. Especially given that the bed size tends to determine the cost of the room.

The room had not been vacuumed it smelled like mildew and mold, the bathroom faucet, water was a Trinkle, once in the shower, black mold appeared. The towels were gray with stains on them not white and felt like a rug not a towel. When I asked for white towels I was told all our towels are white I beg the difference out was grey.

Only one side of the blackout curtains closed. I’m feeling like maybe they didn’t have staff to cover the hotel for the event for the weekend. Maybe that room was over looked however it’s not what I’m used to for Marriott
