Hotel Eklund

It’s an old time hotel building that’s been beautifully restored and bathrooms updated. It’s very well maintained and clean. The front desk staff are charming older ladies who are very warm and friendly and make you feel right at home.

I can’t think of anything that I didn’t like.

I love that they allow pets. The decor is representative of the old days. It is very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly.

The complimentary breakfast is a burrito, cereal, or mini biscuits. Not much of a variety.

The hotel has lots of history and is pretty charming. It accepts dogs which worked well for our stay. Our room was somewhat disappointing though…It was small, dark, and the view was the rooftop of the adjoining bar. It is also situated near railroad tracks, so we experienced a “My Cousin Vinny” moment early in the morning. The free breakfast was good with a nice quiche and steel cut oatmeal. Most of the restaurants (including the hotel restaurant) were not open the first half of the week, so options were very limited.

The history and unique turn of the century furnishings. We also enjoyed the coffee shop across the street from the hotel.
