The staff didn’t speak English they used there phone to translate

Stayed at the Haunted Manor at Castle Wood Cottages, and what a pleasant surprise it was! I hadn't checked the reviews or looked at any photos beforehand, so I had no idea what to expect. I arrived a little early, and the staff were kind enough to let me check in ahead of time. The moment I stepped inside, I was amazed by the spooky decor and attention to detail! The cabin was spacious, and everything was thoughtfully arranged to create a fun, haunted atmosphere. The cabin had two large TVs for entertainment, clean bathrooms, and a dedicated parking space. It also had all the basic amenities, including a coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, glasses, and dishes. The location was another plus, just about 0.6 miles from the center of Big Bear Lake, making it convenient to explore the area. There was a slight language barrier, as the manager didn't speak English and communicated using a translator, but it wasn't an issue at all. Overall, it was a unique and memorable experience! I loved the creativity and effort put into the Haunted Manor theme. Would definitely love to stay here again and perhaps try one of their other themed cottages next time!

It could have been more clean.

Everything about the place was amazing and just like shown in pictures. The style and all the decorations made it feel like we were really in a castle, from walls to floors to even silverware.

Nothing I didn't like

Super convenient location, but this property has new owners. There is no longer a cute, whimsical potions shop or a cat to greet you. In fact, no one greeted us. We waited for 15 minutes until someone came to the lobby after calling the owner twice.

Spiders and dust in our room, and we had to scrub the bathtub and clean the jets of the tub before using.
