Champaign Garden Inn

The food was all pre-prepared so it was nothing special, but it was plentiful and there were a lot of choices so it was super adequate for my needs.

I mean I thought it was great all the way around.

The location was perfect to walk to the downtown area. Very quiet and safe.

The home is beautiful. It’s full of charm and on a lovely brick street. The room I stayed in had a jacuzzi tub which was a nice modern touch.

Information after booking said it was a person-free check in process. Upon arrival, a woman who said she is the owner’s mother checked me in and showed me around (explaining everything that was on information sheets with my name on it). I left for a bit and upon returning, the other guest happened to be walking up to the house as I was parking. We introduced ourselves to each other. I already knew his name because I was told it by the owner’s mother. I entered the code I was given and he came in behind me. I pointed to where the key was for him and the mother came out upset asking who let him in. I told him we happened to be at the door at the same time. She said I “upset the process.” I don’t know what I should have done. Not gone in the house until the other guest entered first or gone in and shut the door in his face? Our rooms happened to be next door to one another. In the morning, I heard a door open and close but not too loudly. What did actually wake me was hearing the mother scolding the other guest—I don’t even know what it was about. I thought I heard something about noise, 6:00, cereal. We’re adults staying in a B&B. There were no intention rude noise, and no raised voices (except for the mother’s). I felt anxious when the bathroom door squeaked! I felt like I had to play “quiet as a mouse.” I didn’t even stay for anything to eat in the morning. I left my key where it needed to go and left. The bed was comfortable but the pillows weren’t leaving me with a nagging stiff neck all day.
