Hotel Tabard Inn

The hotel and room were great. As soon as I spotted it online, I knew my friend would love the quirkiness and oldy worldy decor. It was comfortable and a big room, and well located for people relying on public transport. No TV, which would’ve been unnecessary for us. And for any runners, Roosevelt Island parkrun is easy to get to!

As with most US hotels, breakfast is an additional cost. But we were given money-off vouchers, and the breakfast was really good. Wi-fi in our room wasn’t great, so a booster could improve that.

Quirky but comfortable with Old School ambience and courteous staff

Loved the charm, history, restaurant, and location.

No elevator, TV/coffee maker, hot water went in and out when you showered. But I do understand this is “the oldest continually operating Inn in DC” so I am not ignorant to the fact that there might be some quirks.

This was an alright place to stay—great location, comfortable bed, and spacious room.

It definitely is a very 19th century vibe—no convenient outlets by the bed, no TV, no elevator, thin walls so you can hear people walking around and chatting, and no blackout curtains to cover the bright light outside the window. I also saw a roach in my room which was not ideal. Finally, the staff was a bit rude about luggage storage at check-out. If you’re looking for a place with character that’s convenient to great food/activities/transit, this place is for you, but if you are sensitive to light/noise/etc., I’d choose another option.
