Great location and food

No airco and difficult to sleep in such warm room. The hotel should have an arrangement with the funicular train so guests can travel at reduced cost.

We booked 2 rooms for 4 adults. One of the rooms had a decent view as we had requested. Stand up fans were placed in the rooms (no ac) to help with the intense August heat. The hotel location is really special with tram access less than 100 meters which will take you down the hill to the old castle ruin or further down to town. The hotel does offer free tram transportation. Breakfast was lovely. Hotel staff, very understanding of our sudden change of plans.

The second room booked had a view of the parking lot and the back of the hotel building. We had to leave a day early (sudden death in family), hotel could have offered us another 2 nights on another stay, but because we booked thru a 3rd party we had to forfeit our 2 room 2nd night stay.

The location is beautiful and very near the funicular into the old town and castle. The staff at check in and check out were very friendly.

It was very hot and the rooms don’t have aircon so that was a bit uncomfortable but I do understand that it was a heatwave. They did provide a small fan.

The hotel offers a beautiful panoramic view, and the facilities are clean and well maintained. One staff member was particularly courteous, which I appreciated. Very good breakfast. Well heated room.

Having stayed in many hotels across five continents, this one unfortunately stands out for its lack of hospitality. The overall service experience was disappointing. The reception desk was often unattended, and limited English communication made it difficult to address questions or concerns. Most interactions did not feel welcoming. The restaurant closed almost two hours earlier than the official schedule, with no prior notice. When I raised the issue by email, the hotel apologized only for closing early, not for the lack of communication, and no compensation was offered. Considering the hotel’s location and the limited dining options nearby, prior notification was essential. The room had poor sound insulation, as noise from the adjacent room was clearly audible. Additionally, the bathroom lacked basic amenities such as body lotion and a shower cap.
