Le Mas Candille

Absolutely gorgeous property, a total dream. Close to the most idyllic village for dinner and not far to drive down to the cost for beach days. The staff were superb and looked after us well for our wedding anniversary stay.

It may have been our fault for choosing the wrong room but we found our room to be quite dark with minimal natural light which we found disappointing considering the price per night. The lunch/ dinner menu was very limited for vegetarians so eating was a bit of a challenge. Not the hotels fault but some of the other guests had quite a snooty vibe which we haven’t encountered in similar properties elsewhere.

The setting is spectacular, the rooms beautiful and all public spaces immaculate.

The fact that such a high quality establishment merely maintains on restaurant option for lunch and one for dinner with literally exorbitant prices and not all too exciting menus pushes most guests to dine outside of the hotel - a real miss to not create a more attractive and accessible offering for both guests and external visitors. Service at the pool restaurant especially is distracted and not truly focused on serving the clients pool and restaurant-side. It’s a real miss because the potential is there….

Food was average… and hugely overpriced. Our original room was very small and then we moved and it was an OK size. Upon moving rooms they made us check out at 11 and new room not available or read until 3PM. Very annoying and no apology. Bed very hard - I found it hard to sleep. Staff were OK but not high-end luxury rating in my opinion. I had booked a trip before that I had to cancel and lost all my money because my Mum died. When I booked again I thought a nice gesture may have been an upgrade - but no. I did get a bottle of wine in my room on arrival. But I don’t drink so it was wasted.
