Sotetsu Fresa Inn Ueno-Okachimachi

Location is super convenient, close to multiple metro stations. The room is clean.

Only stayed for one night, as we needed to head back to the airport, so for a short stay it will be fine. The room and bathroom were quite functional, considering the Tokyo size standards. Beds were very comfortable too. The area is perfect - closeby to the Ueno zoo and lots of restaurants and shops within a walking distance. Family mart and 7-11 stores are also quite handy.

The room was a bit small but again - for Tokyo standards it is probably fine. Windows are unable to be opened, so lack of fresh air can be annoying and only the aircon is to be used instead.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I’m so impressed by the bathroom at the lobby level 2. The room was also very clean. Loved the smart washer and dryer all together.

The pillows are too hard for me

The location was the only good thing about this hotel, but there are plenty of other better hotels in the area.

There are cockroaches in this hotel - we flagged this to the front desk but they didn’t look surprised. They changed our room but offered no additional compensation. You have to pay extra to check out 1hr late. The hotel wasn’t cheap and the standard rooms are extremely small (ask for a corner room opposite to the elevator - these are bigger) and dirty. The furniture and lamps were covered with dust. You can’t open window and it feels hot and humid in the room, no fresh air at all. Sotetsu Fresa in Roppongi was much better.
