The history and revitalization of the property are exceptional that are the stage with exceptional detailing for an idyllic immersion in nature of Vila Nova de Cerveira and Alto Minho.
Convento San Payo is the “theatre of one’s mind!” Every scene, act, prop, actor-human, animal, stone, tree, flower, sculpture, arts, and fresh air to endless horizons are for the enjoyment of anyone willing to be present.

This place is paradise. The view is extraordinary, which you enjoy from the lovely pool. It has so much charm and history. The owners are the kindest people you can imagine.
We had a delicious home made dinner in the lovely veranda. Breakfast equally good.
Cannot recommend it enough.
Loved everything.

Luis, the manager is a hard working, professional person who seems to keep the place running. The rooms are clean and spacious and the view from anywhere on the property is beautiful.
It is sad to see the building, gardens and museum that are falling apart, the whole property seems to be uncared for by the owners, despite Luis doing his best to keep all the guests happy. It seemed this place was stuck somewhere between a self catering accommodation and a hotel, and has no real sense of identity.
