Beliggenhed, tæt på stranden og alligevel i et roligt område

Det lå helt op af tog banen og det larmede en del når toget kom forbi

Locația, decorul

Villa Carmelas is in a lovely spot if you like the beach. Easy access to Taormina by bus and bus stop across the road. It's so clean and a true home from home. It has everything you would need

There is not many bars or restaurants close by but it's only a ten to fifteen minute walk to some

Great location within easy walking distance of the beach, and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. They do have private parking available; there was a mention of €5 per day, but we weren't actually charged extra, so it might already be included in the total price.

A few things to keep in mind before booking. First, communication was a bit of a challenge—we had to run all messages we received through a translation app since the hosts didn't speak English. Second, the property is very close to the train tracks, and the frequent train noise isn't ideal when you're trying to relax on vacation. The room itself had two major comfort issues. The AC unit is positioned so that it blows air directly onto your head while in bed. Since turning it off wasn't an option in the heat, sleeping was difficult. Worse, the mattress was awful. Taormina (am not sure why but ok) has a reputation for being a premium, upscale destination, so staying on such an uncomfortable bed where we couldn't get proper rest felt unacceptable for the price we paid. A good mattress should be the bare minimum at these rates.
