Baitong Homestay

This place feels like staying at a warm and welcoming grandmother’s home in the countryside. The lovely owner couple and the staff made me feel so comfortable from the moment I arrived. It is a little away from the Old Town, but there is the famous Mae Kha Canal nearby, and there are even two Michelin-recommended restaurants within easy reach. Since it is close to a college, the prices around the area are also much more affordable than in other parts of Chiang Mai. Most of all, the staff member who works here is like a mother. She is incredibly kind and speaks English very well, so it was really easy and enjoyable to have conversations with her. There are also some long-term guests staying here, and everyone is friendly and welcoming. And the real highlight of this place is the breakfast! The owner is German, and the homemade bread he makes himself is absolutely incredible. It is genuinely high quality and reminded me of traveling around Europe. I have traveled to many countries, but I honestly don't remember having breakfast this memorable at a guesthouse. One morning, I had an upset stomach because I had eaten something wrong the day before. I was thinking that if I were in Korea, I would probably have rice porridge. Just then, the staff asked me, “Would you like some porridge with ginger and pork?” I couldn't believe my luck. It felt like the universe had sent me exactly what I needed to recover! 😂 The porridge was unbelievably delicious. I had never tried ginger porridge before, and honestly, it was even better than the porridge from a famous Korean porridge restaurant. There was also plenty of fresh fruit for dessert. The coffee was delicious, the food was delicious—there was nothing I didn't like. And the portions at breakfast are HUGE! I was amazed at how much food was served, but I happily finished everything. I have traveled extensively around the world, and this place is definitely one of my favorites. I highly recommend staying here.

The location is great. It is close to the night market and restaurants. The room is clean and quiet.

This is family-owned homestay, decorated in retro style, very quiet and relaxing place. Rooms are small but have everything you need for short time stay. Outside the room there are plenty of cozy common spaces with sofa, tables chairs. Great place to relax after the long day in a city. Air condition and wi-fi works great. Few choices of breakfast, coffee, fruits, homemade bread, everything is freshly made
