Brick Lane Hotel

The room was very clean and comfortable. Everything worked as expected. Location was good (15 minutes from the city center.) Very close to a Tube station.

Stairs going up the 1st floor were steep and narrow.

Short walk from tube. Easy to use access codes. Option to leave luggage

Location and character are always good and staff were great👍

Reasonably spacious room for a budget hotel, with sufficient storage. Mostly clean. Location was convenient to public transport, and there were plenty of food options within a 5-minute walk.

Double mattress was collapsing at the edges so effectively not much bigger than a single, making it challenging for two to share. Tiny bathroom. In particular the shower stall was very small, I was bumping both elbows simultaneously. Bright green light on some fixture in the ceiling (non-working light?) was annoying at night. Some street noise -- not as bad as I expected, the windows blocked a lot of noise, but I wore earplugs anyway. Very dusty above bathroom door frame (otherwise clean enough). Non-potable water in the sink, and the complimentary water bottles were only replaced once during our 3-day stay. Deteriorating furnishings. Overall I thought it was fair-to-middling value for the price (~90 GBP/night).
