Fantastic location, quite a small hotel meaning it is less busy which we preferred. Also really dog friendly. Room was a good size and well equipped to say we booked the lower priced option. Also very clean. Food also very good.
To say we paid £25 per night to bring our dog I would have expected more facilities in the room e.g. a dog bed, bowl, etc. We also complained to reception that the external door in our room (room 14) was broken, to which we were told maintenance would come and fix. No one appeared and having stayed on probably one of the windiest nights of the year we didn't get much sleep as a result.

The location and the bar lay out and comfort
The second storey bedroom which was a gruelling hike up the stairs for two elderly people with baggage. The room was very small also.
There The food was not the best quality . The little bread rolls served as a Bon bouche were reheated and microwaved so that they burned the mouth though cool on the outside and were unchewable. There was also a long delay in bringing red wine that was ordered with the meal to the table.

Breakfast was nice and staff very tentative.
Service for dinner was also very good.
Reception and bar staff friendly, helpful and pleasant. Decor generally very good, and clean in communal areas, bar, restaurant etc.
Gardens of the hotel were very nice and very well tended too.
Powerful shower and comfortable bed.
The bathroom was dirty, with black mould on the shower head, had not been cleaned in months.
Ceiling roses of the main light fixtures not secured with exposed wiring. Wardrobe upper cupboard hinge broken. 6 foot piece of architrave missing from around wardrobe frame. Privacy compromised in bathroom, no blind on window.
Tipping hazard at the hotel main entrance door, rubber threshold displaced from door trim.
