Hotel Amira Istanbul

The location was good, the hotel staff very polite and helpful.

I really can’t say anything bad about the hotel — overall, we had a very pleasant stay. If I had to mention something that could be improved, it would probably be the breakfast. It was still good, but the selection was a little limited compared to another hotel we stayed at last year. I personally was completely fine with it, but my mom enjoyed the larger breakfast variety at the previous hotel so much that she now wants to go back there next time mainly because of that. :) The room was clean and comfortable as well. The only small thing I would suggest is updating some of the carpets. They looked quite worn, which can sometimes make them appear less fresh even when they are actually clean. Overall, these are just minor suggestions for improvement, and we enjoyed our stay! I don't have any photos from the hotel only from the balcony. The sea view kinda exists but if you are going in a rainy week you probably not gonna enjoy it)

This hotel is very close to the Blue Mosque and other similar attractions, if this is the main purpose of your trip to Istanbul, this is a good place to stay. The staff were very helpful and keen to look after the guests. The gym is well equipped and the rooftop deck is well set up and spacious (nicer than most in the area - photo is view from bar).

The rooms are large but desperately need an update (bathroom, carpet and wall paper are all very dated) and our sea view was definitely not as pictured (tiny thin verandah and we had to lean past a tall wall to see the view - it was not a nice place to sit at all). The hotel is located in an eclectic area with lots of older buildings, therefore the view and surrounding streets are not too visually appealing. It is difficult to find good food or dining options in the area and anyone we asked suggested catching the tram or ferry to other locations for good and reasonably priced restaurants (which we ended up doing 4 out of the 5 nights we stayed here).
