Our favorite hotel in Bangkok. This was our fourth stay. We love the atmosphere. The restaurant serve delicious food. The staff is always super nice and helpful.

This place is an oasis. I use this sanctuary as a stopping off place on my way into Asia or when I am returning to the US. It is a real treasure. Exceptional decor, the cuisine is superb, excellent espresso drinks, peaceful, harmonious ...

After first arriving I thought the location was way out of the way but that’s not really the case. I suppose it is farther than larger, up-scale hotels but it’s a quiet place and there are a lot of nice mom and pop restaurants and cafes to explore. I loved the overall decor and vibe. It’s retro and very homey. I especially love the first floor cafe and restaurant area which has an open setup. When it downpours you’re both in the rain but have coverage. It’s somehow relaxing to be out in the open air like that. There’s a small coffee place directly outside the main entrance which is good. Down the street to the left is a 711 and smaller food stalls and hole-in-the-wall sit-down food places. The closest form of transportation besides the bus stops (which I was too afraid to use) is the Thewes pier. Use this pier to get to all the main temples from the river. It’s fun and relaxing.

Somehow I was expecting a blowdryer but honestly the temp was warm enough that my hair dried quickly once I stepped outside. The Wi-Fi on the third floor went in and out occasionally. It wasn’t a huge hindrance; just lightly annoying.

The ambiance of the hotel is quite unique, with a vintage touch, quite different from the busy and noisy Khaoshan area vibes. Very spacious, in the room and in the common areas, we could spend some time chilling in the yard in the morning or late evening, quite nice.

The toilet / shower, is really THE down side of the hotel. The shower is not separated from the toilet, which means whenever someone took a shower (or even the night before), the floor will remain wet. When you want to go for the toilet, it's all wet... We were 3 living in 1 rooms, so the floor is always wet, soon it's becominy dirty... Moreover, the toilet light is connected to the toilet exhaust fan, which is super loud. We had to go to the toilet in dark in the middle of the night, in order not to wake up the others, and as the floor is wet, it's dangerouse (could be slippery). This unfortunate situation makes it less worthy for the price and ranking, we really suffered.
