Wishing Well Guest House

Close to the front and also clean rooms

The toilet got blocked and wasn’t sorted for a full day and we did have to get our own toilet roll as there wasn’t any when we went to go toilet

Good location

Nothing

Staff friendly and helpful got no complaints

Sink disposal pipe was leaking all over the floor had to put a bucket under it, but apart from that it was OK

Keep in mind that this is a budget hotel; you only get what you pay for. Could it be better? Of course. Could it be cleaner? Yes, certainly. Could it have a better location? Yes, though the current one isn't bad. Could Blackpool be less drab and more up-to-date? Yes, it could. Are resources being underutilized? I don't know, but the hotel and the city itself are worn-out and in decline—much like the UK. There is no dynamism, nor any desire to step on the gas.

I repeat: you get what you pay for. I’ve stayed in hotels three times as expensive as this one where the price tag just covers soap in the shower and clean towels, yet a sense of decline hangs in the air—like a former beauty queen who, despite the passing years and the wrinkles, insists on wearing a miniskirt.
