Absolutely stunning hotel if you're into architecture, design, good food combined with tranquility.

Staff were amazing and very helpful at all times, even with limited English knowledge. The only comment I have as an overseas visitor is regarding the free tour the hotel offers. I was approached by a staff member suggesting to go on a free tour of the neighbourhood. I thought that was a great idea and happily joined. To my surprise the tour was fully in Japanese and I was simply given a deck of paper with the explanation in English. Given how polite Japanese are, I felt obligated to stay on the tour while not understanding a single word and no interest in digging through 4 pages of text...

The room was very spacious and even had a private onsen which I should have used more.

I wished the location was not too far from the center of the city.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our stay at Matsumoto Jujo was wonderful and one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The hotel has a unique character, beautiful design, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and enjoy every moment. The books and thoughtfully designed spaces give it a special charm. It felt like a complete experience, and we only wished we could have stayed longer. We highly recommend Matsumoto Jujo to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Matsumoto. We would love to return!

The food is too complicated from dinner to breakfast. And the location for check in & parking are a bit in convenience.
