Le Château de BRESSEY & son Orangerie

We stayed in the Dower House and loved every minute. Roses climb the old stone walls, there are little tables and chairs outside the door, and at night the sky is full of stars. It was quiet, comfortable, and has a little kitchen if you need it. The château is run by a husband and wife, and meeting them both was one of the highlights of our stay. He's a historian with wonderful stories to tell about the place and its past. We met his wife at breakfast and had a lovely chat with her about her family's history. Breakfast is served in the château around one big table, so you end up chatting with the other guests over coffee. Such a lovely way to start the day. The park is fantastic, with tall old trees and beautiful outbuildings to wander past. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer to explore the grounds properly. It's very comfortable, but it's old, so don't expect a 5-star hotel. That's exactly what we loved about it. The house has been kept historically accurate, so you really get a feel for what it was like to live in a place like this. We'll be back, and next time for more than one night!

Quiet and beautiful location.

Nothing to say

French chateau with a long and exciting history with it's orangerie. Fabulous host making sure we had a good stay! A bit of renovation still in the process, but didn't bother us at all. Excellent breakfast! Easy to find, and easy to park. A very nice alternative to all the streamlined hotels.

Rooms are not soundproof.

The setting and the hosts made the stay. Bertrand and Catherine were so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. We enjoyed a lovely, sociable evening drink in the amazing chateau before retiring to the orangery. The wider grounds were also lovely to stroll around.
