The staff were super friendly. Especially Giovanni, who upgraded my room free of charge. He was also very helpful in directing me to the breakfast area and to my room. The location was good as it was close to the city centre and train station. And the bed was super comfortable.
The bathroom had a bit of mold and smelt a little strange but was otherwise in great condition.

The staff is exceptionally polite and helpful, location is perfect, rooms are beautiful (I was in a room with a painted ceiling), the hostel also has a beautiful outdoor terrace with natural shade. Breakfast was excellent.

Large, basic, institutional feel hostel. The room is big. The bathroom is outside--large shower but you need to ask the reception for shower gel. No free towels. Breakfast is basic and decent.
Compared to the Bologna and Florence hostels I stayed at before coming here, this place feels very basic and below average. I can feel the metal springs in the mattress. Good for a night if you don't want to visit Ferrara as a day trip from Bologna.

It was much cheaper than hostels in Bologna, around 25 euros night. Included breakfast, tough every option was sweet (croissants, jam, cereals, milk)
Uncomfortable mattress and creaky bed. Not clean enough, specially the bedroms. It was very hot inside I could not sleep well any day. The first day one of the guest was stinky....
The staff weren't the most friendly people, though they did their jobs.
Other than that, it's is missing a kitchen and a place for people to meet up.
