Town: St. Austell, a market town close to Cornwall's south coast, has an impressive history in china clay mining, and today remains popular with visitors due to its beaches and gardens, and proximity to pretty fishing villages or world-famous attractions. Wander round the Lost Gardens of Heligan or the biomes of the Eden Project, or spend a lazy day on the sand at Carlyon Bay or in the safe waters of Polkerris. Fowey, Mevagissey, Caerhays Castle and the St. Austell Brewery are just a few of the delights that await visitors to St. Austell.
