Location, location, location. In the heart of beautiful and under rated Schiedam, on the Lijn 11 tram line to the heart of Rotterdam. Very friendly locals who let me join their dinner party at a restaurant. The apartment had everything, including a washer and drier. Close to local supermarket. Ideal for a stay close to but away from busy Rotterdam. Easy trains from Schiedam station to Delft (10mins), Den Haag (20 mins), Leiden (25mins). I will be back to that apartment spring 2027.
Honestly from my point of view, nothing. I was there in 35c heat but as long as the front blinds were down it was fine. If there had been a Nespresso machine I may never have left !

I booked for 4 nights and contacted the owner to make a change — one night less — since I was still within the timeframe allowed by Booking. I sent messages into the void, as he never replied. We called by phone, and eventually, the owner told me there was no problem modifying the reservation and shortening it by one night. In the end, he charged me the full amount, as if I had never requested the change or asked how to shorten my stay. Peter washes his hands of it and blames booking.com. A poor gesture on his part.
