Friendly staff, plenty of space, good location

It’s obviously being improved so at the moment it looks a bit run down

This hotel was perfect for our family. Rooms are clean & comfortable. Location is great. Staff goes above & beyond.

Such an easy place to find. The staff were extremely friendly. Even offered to help us if we had luggage up to the room (I’ve never stayed anywhere that’s offered this). The room was more than enough to fit my family of five, had individual bottles of water for us, plenty of teas and coffees. Downstairs has a bar and restaurant, I didn’t use this as I was tired but the food was smelling lovely. Breakfast was a hot buffet and continental again everything was lovely. I’d definitely recommend for a family to stay.

This was the cheapest hotel I could find as the last night of our highland road trip. Located right on the Old Millitary road it was the perfect location to start the epic drive along the cairngorms. This is a big old hotel in a tiny village, many big highland hotels are falling into disrepair, the maintenance costs are huge and this one is no different. But and this is a big but and wont appeal to everyone, places like these ooze character and in my opinion add to the scottish adventure, its kinda like visiting a time machine. The furniture was shabby, attempts had been made at decorating and the room had old rusty radiators but they kept the room nice and warm. Bed Linen and towels were clean and fresh and although the bathroom was old and very traditional it was warm and the shower was great. I really wish the owners the best of luck with this hotel and I hope it gets the investment it deserves.

This place doubles up as an indian restaurant, I wasnt in the mood for indian food on arrival and in the morning the smell of indian cooking was still lingering in the dining area, as a result we decided to get breakfast elsewhere.
