Trivelles Gatwick Hotel & airport Parking

It was close to London Gatwick Airport. That’s why I booked it.

The staff was not particularly warm, friendly or helpful

The location was convenient for the airport, the room temperature was good, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom and bedroom were clean.

There were 2 vending machines on site for food and drink but the food one was out of order. As such, we could only get a drink. Menus were available to order something for delivery but there was no way to grab a quick snack

Staff was very friendly and told us everything we needed to know. Very close to Gatwick. Was able to leave car there for duration of our holiday

The road leading to it nearly popped car tire as very uneven and bumpy with potholes Room was a little dark

It was a cheap stay close to the airport with free parking and the bed sheets were clean and soft, the pillows were just right. It is conveniently close to Gatwick BUT no aircraft noise.

The place was a bit Fawlty Towers Rooms looked nice in the photos but on close inspection everything is tired and done to the cheapest possible standard. It is an old building and needs rather a lot of money spending on it BUT if they invested money to modernise everything, then they would presumably have to put the rates up which would mean they might struggle for custom when you can get a Holiday Inn for similar price. I saw a silverfish in my en suite shower room and I saw a few in the dining room which put me off my breakfast. I know they are not cockroaches or rodents, can't make me ill but still unpleasant. They are a sign of damp. I mentioned it to a member of staff who just said well it's an old building so kind of to be expected. Breakfast was very basic. They don't have 24 hour reception so they tell you how to get into reception if you've already checked in but want to go out for the evening and come back late. I went out in the evening but arrived back while the front desk was still manned. The front entrance smelt strongly of marijuana which I would like to think was a guest and not an employee. I chose this place because all I needed was a place to sleep for one night as I was coming down from Lincolnshire to get a morning flight out of Gatwick and I preferred to wake up on the doorstep of the airport as opposed to getting up in the small hours to drive down. I could have got a Holiday Inn or a similar price but I thought it would be nice to support a small business and get a "boutique" hotel but sadly it does not have a "boutique" vibe.
