Waterfront House

What a wonderful find on Orkney Islands! A great location in between Scara Brae and Kirkwall, getting around was a snap. Our room was beautiful and spacious with a great window overlooking the ocean, very pretty! Comfortable bedding, lovely modern bathroom and our wonderful hostess left us the most lovely items for breakfast each day... yogurt, oatmeal, eggs, croissants... This place did not disappoint. Highly Recommend!

Everything was wonderful!

We stayed at Waterfront House for nine days. Its location was perfect for getting to the major sites on the Mainland as well as to the connecting ferries to the other islands. The property is very well equipped, and our host Kim was welcoming and attentive.

Our host, Kim, was so friendly and helpful. She was present when we arrived, showed us to our amazing room with an amazing view of the sea. Breakfast was self-served with an egg steamer, porridges, fruits, croissants, breads, coffee and the room fridge was filled was gourmet goodies like kefir, whole milk (with the cream), orkney cheese, orkney fudge, juice, and kombucha. The fact that we had laundry facilities was amazing. Centrally located to everything we wanted to do on Orkney, beautiful surroundings, just an amazing place.

Not what was advertised . I was expecting a self catering cottage and king size room with use of a kitchen as it was advertised as Jupiter cottage with king size bedroom . It is a small room with small double bed in an attic with sloping roof . Not great for anyone over 5ft 5. No sink . Outcries hard with breakfast things ( croissant , jam, eggs , toast ) but I would have rather had use of a kitchen . It is on a noisy road and has a noisy air duct so had to sleep with ear plugs . Silly things like a TV in the bathroom do not make up for pokey space and noise . Had use of a washing machine .
