Yoshi-san really created an inclusive and homey atmosphere. It definitely is not a place to just come to and enjoy your introverted time, but rather a place where you can spend some time at with other people after a long day of climbing up Mt. Aso.
Yoshi even provided us with a handwritten map for the vicinity, small gifts and recommendations for food and bathing.
The facilities were a bit confusing at the beginning, but it was solved with written instructions.

Yoshi was the consummate host, generous with his assistance and recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area.
Very close to the Cuddly Dominion bus stop but about a 15 minute walk to the station. However Yoshi has bicycles to borrow which made getting around much easier.

If you're heading to Aso then this is the place to stay. Yoshi, the owner, is the friendliest host in Japan. He welcomed us with tea, a list of tips and recommendations for the area and a fun game during check-in. Every night he has a bonfire going and cooked us Aso sweet potatoes. He makes sure guests are accommodated in any way and we had some very interesting conversations. The area is serene and idyllic and there is a generally nice vibe about the whole place. We'll be back next time we're in Aso.
