We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Fort Walton Beach. The property is as listed, with an incredible balcony overlooking the emerald blue and green waters. We watched dolphin and sting ray from our balcony.
The unit is nice with lots of sleeping spaces. Some of the kitchen items are in rough shape, but we were able to manage a full Thanksgiving dinner with what was provided and a few items from home that we’ve learned are essential to our experience.
I did have to contact customer service for an issue with one of the beds and got a prompt response: I opted not to have them look at it during our stay, but they ensured that someone would after we left.
The only true complaint I have is that many of the doors felt “sticky”. We tried cleaning them but determined it was just a really bad paint job that never set properly. This was not a deal breaker for us and could likely be easily remedied by repainting the doors.
The heated pool was amazing— especially after jumping in the cooler November ocean water.
It’s a great property and I’d stay again!

Condo was excellent, just as pictured. The only issue we had was the icemaker quit on us but one phone call to Brooks and Shorey and before we knew it we had a brand new stainless fridge! They are awesome to work with and have booked with them for years! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Gulf Dunes 508 was a really nice condo that matched the description perfectly. It was clean with a fully stocked kitchen, and beautiful views from the patio, and the two free beach chairs were a great bonus. Customer service was fantastic, and we would consider staying at a Brooks and Shorey Resort again. Location is close to everything. It's next to Destin without paying Destin prices.

When the water pipes burst in the original condo due to the extreme cold (I believe a record for the area), Brooks & Shorey immediately put us in a new condo on Christmas Eve. They made a difficult situation easy to handle, and the new condo was wonderful! Merry Christmas!

The LR furniture is worn out! No support and difficult for a senior citizen to use. The DR chairs are rusty. A stool at the breakfast bar is dangerously wobbly. There was no DW liquid. The smoke alarm chirped until we replaced the battery. The bathtubs are too high for a senior to enter easily--should be a warning on this unit--NO SENIORS.

The ice maker was a bonus. The bed was comfortable but a bit firmer than we are used to. The only recommendation I would make is to add an ottoman to the furniture in the living room so that there is a comfortable place to rest your feet!
The view from the balcony was amazing. We enjoyed watching the dolphins swim by in the early morning. We also took advantage of the offered Explorie activities and my husband golfed several times! We highly recommend The Shack restaurant in Fort Walton Beach (excellent Lobster Crab Cakes) and BoShamps in Destin for a pricier but excellent seafood dinner!

Always a pleasure at Gulf Dunes. The only thing negative about this trip was not being able to sit on the balcony due to cigarette and pot smoke coming our way from neighbors. My daughter has asthma so we wish there could be a smoker's building and a total non-smokers building. And I think marijuana is illegal in Florida. Seemed to be from a couple of doors down from us...maybe 506 or 505. But hard to say for sure. Also the 2nd bedroom tv did not work at picture on it; just "no cable" sign when turned on screen. We love Gulf Dunes. Maryanna is the best!

We couldn't get into our condo until 6pm but check in was at 4 pm. The lady at the front desk was not very nice. The washer and dryer didn't have work, took 2 hours to dry a load of clothes. One of the burners on the stove didn't work . For the price we paid it was a bad rental experience.

Awesome beach vacations spot
This was the perfect place for our yearly Ft. Walton beach trip for our group of 8. Location is the best. Property was just perfect. We will be trying to lease this place again for our 2021 trip.

We loved our vacation rental. The Condo was well equipped and had very pretty decor. We loved the location and the view from our balcony was amazing. It had 2 tables and several chairs on the balcony which we loved! The only negative thing is when I had to move one of the chairs in the living room it was very dirty under it. It was the same under all the tables and chairs. I would definitely recommend this condo and Brooks and Shorey Resorts. We will be using them again.
