We had a wonderful time staying at this modern & spacious penthouse. Everything was perfect. The instructions for finding the place are very clear, and the transportation is very convenient. We really loved the style of interior and the many nice features. Thanks for having us.

We loved "our little flat" in Bern. In fact one of our favorite memories was eating dinner in and drinking aperol spritz on the balcony. The location was perfect for us as we wanted a little quiet but with easy access to the city. The place was equipped with everything you could possibly imagine that you'd need and more. They even had a mini-fondue set. It was so clean and decorated so adorable. Paolo was always very responsive and included perfect instructions for everything. They were also very flexible as we didn't know if our older daughter was going to join us until the last minute. There was easily space for all 4 of us and they were so accommodating. We had a car so the parking garage option was great for us, but we also used the Libero pass to see the city. We highly recommend this place! Loved everything about it.

What a wonderful stay. Fantastic location, just 10 min by tram to the city centre and the tram station is a 3 minute walk away. Apartment is well appointed and spotless. The cleanest unit i have ever stayed in. The unit is bright and airy with 7 skylights a large sliding glass door and large window. Beds are super comfortable and bath room was well laid out and large. Elevator takes you right to your unit and on a clear day you can see mountains in the distance. Communication with property manager and owner was great. We will definitely be back.

The place is better than the pictures. We were impressed with everything. From the moment we arrived in Bern the communication was excellent. The directions on how to go to the apartment from the train station was perfect. The apartment is close to a grocery store where we stocked up on food for the week. The kitchen was beautiful and clean plus very modern. The bathroom is fantastic and has plenty of space to move around. The work station came in handy as well. They have air conditioning but we opened the windows and did not need the air at all. We had dinner a couple of nights on the balcony. This place is great and highly recommend it. Oh I also forgot that the laundry room downstairs was great as well.

Amazing place that has literally EVERYTHING you need….and I mean EVERYTHING!!! The hosts are super nice and were available via text or call. They also had an on-site helper Tony who showed us how to use the laundry facility. The shower was spacious and comfortable, so was the Queen size bed (plenty of extra towels and pillows). Kitchen has everything to cook a meal (even fondue and sushi roll making device). The pantry cubby has all condiments including salt/pepper/sugar/oil/tea/coffee pods and more. We loved this place so much! Our friends will book it next year when they come to explore Bern and Switzerland :) Thank you so much Franziska and Paolo!
P.S. We found bus #17 to be the closest and best way to get in and out of Bern Banhoff train station ( the bus stop is to the right across the street from the glass covered tram area you see when coming up the escalators). We also loved the pizza place A’Amico (Loryplatz) and the amazing coffee at Bäckerei Hirschi on Mattenhofstrasse 41

We spent four days and three nights in Bern and were so happy to have chosen this flat as our home base.
Everything was as advertised. Easy self-checkin, communication with Franziska was excellent. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds/pillows, nicely furnished. The light and outside space were especially nice.
Conveniently located (1/2 block) to tram and/or bus stop for a 7 minute ride to the train station. Franziska also set us up with a free local travel pass for the days we were in Bern.
The neighborhood was quiet and there is a small market within the block. Checked all of the boxes!

I spent 5 nights at this beautiful loft apartment. Communication with the host was easy and the apartment was modern with many amenities including an elevator that opens directly into the apartment, high end kitchen with oven and dishwasher, nespresso machine with capsules, renovated bathroom with heated floors, extra blankets, and best of all a parking space in a garage a block away at a reasonable rate. Highly recommend!

My parents and I had such a great stay at Franziska and Paolo's place in Bern. The location was perfect with easy access to busses which took us to downtown Bern in about 10 minutes! Public transportation was included in our stay which in itself added so much value to the property. The apartment was very clean and well stocked and we did not want for anything. Toni the local host was so kind and friendly and available and everything from booking to checking in and checking out was effortless. I could go on and on about the perks and how wonderful this place is. I will return with my husband to Bern at some point in the future and we will definitely stay again at Franziska and Paolo's place if it is available and they will have us. Thank you so much for everything!

Live like a local!
My husband and I stayed in this apartment for 5 days while we took day trips to Zermatt, Interlaken and Zurich. It was very convenient to have the train stop 1/2 a block away. We were able to use it to go shopping, go sightseeing in Bern, and to get to the main train station. We really appreciated the smart TV at night and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to do some cooking when we were back from our adventures. We took the train/tram to Coop which is a wonderful grocery store to get everything we wanted. There is also a little market across the street for quick needs. We also appreciated the parking space because it is very hard to park in the city. All communication was quickly answered by the property owner or the gentleman living in the building who manages the apartment. You can sleep 3 people comforably and we used the motorized shades to darken the rooms. Overall it was a wonderful stay.

We were in Bern for business and pleasure and we like to cook our meals ourselves and meet friends in a quiet atmosphere.
The attic style apartment on 5th top floor with direct access by elevator, overview on Gurten hill at outskirt of Bern is very clean, modern, well equipped, lots of additional (paper/books/maps) information on Bern etc.. Close to it is the direct tram or bus link (about 10 min) to Bern city center and railway station and Tydglogge etc.. The owners as well as housekeeper have been very attentive. Next/second time we will try to book this apartment but we hope it is overbooked, as it should be.

Although the layout of the apartment is essentially open concept, privacy is available where needed or desired. Light-sensitive people will enjoy the shutters and blinds that all operate at the touch of a button. Sound-sensitive people will find the apartment so quiet that they'll think no one else even lives in the building. The air conditioner did a great job of keeping things cool in warmer weather. We had no reason to use heating, but we're sure it would have worked just as well.
Laundry facilities are in the basement. The washer and dryer were very easy to use, but since they are shared with the rest of the building, don't forget to schedule the time that you want to use them in the small notebook in the laundry room. Some people, used to doing the wash whenever they feel like it, may find this strange. But it is considered a common courtesy to do so in many places in Europe, and this is one of them.
The apartment is very well provisioned in every respect, especially in both the bathroom and the kitchen. We were particularly impressed by all the information and explanations that were provided. Anything a guest could want or need to know about where things are and how they work is made available in detail with many helpful photos. It's obvious that Franziska and Paolo are very dedicated to the goal of making their guests feel comfortable, and we certainly did. We would not hesitate for a moment to stay here again.

Every detail was thought of, from kitchen utensils and spices/vondiments to provided toiletries and laundry detergent. The local host, Toni, was great, super helpful and very responsive, and the property owners checked in by email after our checkin and checkout to make sure everything was to our liking.

Fantastic Apartment in a Great Location
The apartment was more than we could have asked for -- spotlessly clean, well stocked kitchen, fantastic bath, and beautiful views from the outdoor patio where we enjoyed coffee every morning (Nespresso machine -- yay!). Don't hesitate to stay here just because it's out of the city center. We enjoyed being a quieter area, but still so convenient to groceries, the easy tram that comes every 5-6 minutes and takes you anywhere you want to go, and several neighborhood restaurants in walking distance. The ride from city center to the apartment is just under 10 minutes. The instructions for arrival, getting out of the train station, to the tram station, how to access the apartment, etc. were FANTASTIC! The apartment was perfect for our family of 3, and I would recommend this lovely spot to anyone.

Fantastic super light and modern penthouse apartment with lift literally minutes away from the tram stop and only 10 minutes from the centre of Bern. I would totally recommend this apartment to couples and small families. It was clean, well- equipped and comfortable. Lovely views from the balcony when it wasn't snowing!!! I double bed and a convertible couch if you need to sleep more than two. Great bathroom with combo bath/ shower. Underfloor heating made the apartment snug and blackout blinds and a door to the bedroom ensured we slept well. We really enjoyed our stay here and communication with the host was easy with a local contact for any problems - we didn't have any but it was nice to know he was there if we needed him!

Lovely, welcoming apartment
I really enjoyed my stay in this lovely, very modern apartment in Bern. The local host, Tony, was so helpful and welcoming. He could not have done a better job of making me comfortable and welcome.
And I very much enjoyed the Bern card that came with my stay there. I was able to hop on and off of trams and buses all over town, without the concern of buying tickets.
The apartment had everything that I needed, and the grocery store nearby was excellent. It was easy to travel into the downtown area or the train station. Since I come to Bern every year or two, I will be planning my trip to include a stay at this lovely apartment whenever possible.

Excellent stay at Bern
Over the years we have stayed at many rentals across US. This little place in Bern takes the winning spot among all. The place is way cuter than the pictures posted at VRBO. Very compact and chic, secured yet beautiful. The owner could not meet as at check-in but we never feel the need of it. Every instruction is spot-on. We had coffee/tea every morning and afternoon at the little veranda. Surrounding was cozy, yet you can you can view the snow capped mountains over the horizon.
If we ever come back to Bern, we will stay at this place again.

A beautiful and super equipped apartment
My partner and myself stayed in this fantastic apartment for one week. I can honestly say it is the most beautiful and well equipped apartment I ever stayed in. There was absolutely nothing missing. The owners have thought of everything. The apartment is modern, spacious, stylish and just a fantastic place to stay. Not to forget very clean and in a brilliant location near the town centre. The owners were very very helpful and the contact before the stay was friendly and with any question there was a quick response. The local host was very friendly and welcoming. All in all, I would just love to stay again as soon as possible. So many thanks.

And the room darkening blinds kept the apartment dark in the morning, even in late June when there is a lot of daylight in Switzerland. Every night we ate on the deck overlooking the rooftops of the neighborhood. A nearby Coop grocery store was convenient. All the kitchen equipment was top quality (although as non-German speaking visitors we were a bit challenged on figuring out how to use them!) It is an easy 10 minute tram ride to the main train station in Bern. We enjoyed being in a neighborhood outside of the urban hustle and appreciated peaceful evenings. Tony, the local contact, lives in the building and was available if we needed assistance. The gracious owner checked in with us to make sure all was well. I highly recommend this apartment and will definitely stay here again when in Bern.

FANTASTIC, beautiful, perfect, clean...need I say more!
We have stayed in many rentals and this by far is ranked #1! Very modern and the owners took great pride to make sure every need of the renter was satisfied. Architecturally stunning and the outdoor top floor balcony was the perfect setting to enjoy a glass of wine after a long day. Perfect instructions were prepared for all needs and the bus and grocery store were both within 200 feet of the apartment. The owners are gracious, welcoming and personable, as is Tony, your concierge. Franziska and Paulo, you are the best!

Wonderful accommodations, clean, comfortable and convenient!
Enjoyed 3 lovely nights in this wonderful top-level apartment in Bern. There were 3 adults and we were quite comfortable with more than enough space to not feel crowded. The rooftop deck was so inviting and a wonderful place to have morning espresso. The birds literally never stopped singing - I'm not making that part up! The apartment is located a block away from the tram and we rode the tram system throughout the city. Our hosts left passes for us that provided free tram rides throughout our stay and we took full advantage even riding the funicular up to Gurten Park for beautiful views. The apartment was well-appointed with plenty of the necessities and then some. You have plenty of supplies to get you started and can supplement as needed. Our hosts were responsive and ensured that our local contact made sure we were all set. Very nice way to spend our time in Bern!

Clean, quiet, modern, well-appointed
This was the second time that I stayed here and it is still a great place to stay. It is conveniently located to a small market and a tram stop. Quiet, well-equipped, nice balcony, and well-equipped kitchen. It is on the top floor, but it does have an elevator. Looks like the pictures. Because of the sloping ceilings a very tall person might need to be careful.

Absolutely perfect!
My husband and I spent one month in this lovely, light-filled, and most conveniently located apartment (Sept. 11 - Oct. 9, 2017). The owners, together with the local host, Toni, provided comprehensive information about the apartment as well as about the Bern environs. We made full use of the passes for free local transportation (buses and trams) that came with the apartment and quickly realized how much of a 'value added' benefit they were. We enjoyed the apartment's balcony morning, noon and evening, with its picture-perfect snow-capped Alps in the background. The modern and spacious bathroom and the fully-equipped kitchen exceeded our expectations. It is not an exaggeration to say that we left this beautiful apartment with a tinge of regret, feeling that it really had--after a month--become home. If life takes us back to Bern, we will definitely hope to return to this gem!

This was the perfect place for our family to stay while we were visiting Bern. The apartment itself is very well maintained and comfortable with elevator access directly to the apartment. The neighborhood around the apartment is lovely with some restaurants and a grocery store about a 1 minute walk away. Also, the stop for the local train is about a minute walk away (right across the street from the grocery store). This train takes you right to the heart of the city in about 10 minutes and we never waited for more than about 5 minutes before a train arrived. We arrived by train from Zurich and took a taxi to the apartment but if we had known how convenient the local train is we would have just taken that to the apartment. You literally walk out of the main train station and go across the street and catch the #6 train to it's last stop, and then walk about a minute to the apartment.
Getting in the apartment was no problem. A key was left in a lock box accessible with a code personally set for us. On our first day we received an email from Franziska making sure that we were settled in and comfortable. Tony, the on site manager, was also very helpful, checking on us during our stay to make sure we were comfortable and offering help with the laundry facilities and general information about Bern. He was so nice and helpful. Tony also has a great dog that my son loved saying hi to when we saw him. Bern is a beautiful city and we wish we could have stayed longer. Whenever we visit Bern in the future this will be the place we stay.

Great Apartment
The reviews of this apartment we uniformly excellent so after looking at other properties we settled on this one for a 3-night stay in July. The apartment was immaculate and very well-stocked. It has a small terrace with a view of the Alps in the distance. Taking the tram into the center of the city was super easy and free with the pass provided by the owner. The property manager is on site to answer any questions and the owners contacted us during our stay to confirm that everything was to our liking. I wish we could have stayed here for a month! I can recommend this property without hesitation.

Perfect for our stay in Bern
This is a great little attic apartment! At first, we were concerned that it was too far from the city center. But the transit options are convenient and fast so it didn't end up being a problem. The apartment is well furnished and comfortable. It was even safe for our toddler to play in. We loved eating meals out on the balcony with a few of the distant mountains. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Convenient and Luxurious
Everything about this place was great--from the high-end amenities (ie. heated bathroom floor), to the communication, to the location. It's only a 15 minute tram ride from the train station, and the tram runs frequently. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Functional beauty!
We were pleasantly surprised by this apartment. The pictures do not do it justice! Despite being essentially one huge room, it is cleverly divided by use of the kitchenette "wall" and glass between the bedroom/bathroom area. There is much more storage than we expected--closets by the computer area plus a small cabinet in the bedroom. The elevator from the foyer to our apartment door was an additional plus--made us feel very special as well as making our transporting of groceries and luggage effortless. There is a designated seating area for reading or watching the huge flat screen TV. We did not get to fully take advantage of the balcony space as it was cool and rainy for most of our visit. The evening we did was just wonderful! The radiant floor heating system is perfect for giving us comfortable temperatures during the cooler weather. The cook top was easy to use (didn't use the oven) and the Wifi was excellent. The location of the apartment was very good. Just a block away from the tram/bus stop and a good size grocery on the opposite corner. Tony was so helpful! If we had questions (laundry room) he was there to answer and actually show us how things worked. This apartment is one of the nicest we've stayed in through our years of travel! We hope to be staying in Bern again and if so, we hope we can stay here!
