We absolutely loved the house! It was everything and more than we expected. The water view was incredible and the location was perfect. It was truly like staying in someone’s home, especially having a Christmas tree. We had everything we needed, even condiments in the fridge. We took a ton of pictures and plan on sharing them.

Pictures didn’t do location justice. The water is stunning, the house is spacious, the owners/manager are extremely helpful, and the small laid back nature of island is refreshing. Was romantic get away for 2. Thinking of coming back with kids, because more than enough room for others. Highlights included seeing giant sting ray from dock, star gazing, and appreciang the perfect views from house. House was secluded enough that felt like private island. Owner helped line up golf cart rental for getting around, and ferry plus taxi from airport.

We have stayed at several different properties now in the Bahamas, and we like this one the best so far! It is very private and yet close to anything you need. Rebecca was very responsive and helpful with whatever we needed.

Our stay at Drift Away couldn't have been better. The whole process from beginning to end was perfect. Every detail was taken care of for us: from getting to the island to enjoying our time in the house. It's so nice to have more than just "a place to stay"...this was a place to relax since we didn't have to worry about the little things. Thanks to Rebecca for great communication and to Sarah for handing our requests quickly and efficiently!

The property was exactly what we needed! We did a fishing trip, and the property being on the water with a wonderful jetty at the bottom of the property was incredible.
The property managers were very helpful, and very patient with all my questions.

We selected this location based off other reviews and it was incredible. Very clean, private, and relaxing. We felt like we had an entire beach to ourselves and really enjoyed the private dock and beautiful property. During the day we would play in the water, snorkel, and use the kayaks. At night we would enjoy looking at all the stars. Driftaway is a great house in a great location and we look forward to returning in the future.

Amazing second time staying at Driftaway. Our flight was delayed but Sarah was there to greet us without us even having to communicate it. The golf cart was there and the house was just as amazing as before. The beds are so comfortable. The kitchen has everything imaginable. Lots of towels, floats, detergent and everything you need!
The view and the water are the best on the island. We cannot wait to return.

Drift away was one of the best rentals for relaxation. The view was phenomenal. Calm beautiful water. We felt like we were the only ones on the beach, essentially. The property had two kayaks available for use and my husband and I kayaked around the shore and the bay almost everyday. It was so peaceful and relaxing and we saw so many starfish, stingrays, turtles and fish. The home was very clean and beautifully decorated and the property was full of beautiful flowering trees, bushes and fruit trees. Everything was seamless from start to finish with this rental. If you want a vacation that is very low key and relaxing on a laid back little island in a great rental, then this is the place for you.

Drift Away was the most incredible beachfront rental house, and I cannot express how truly unforgettable the experience was. From start to finish, everything about this property, exceeded our expectations and left us longing for us to return as soon as possible. Location wise this rental house is perfect, set right on the beach it offers unparallel views of the beautiful turquoise waters of the Bahamas. The house itself is a testament to comfort. Every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create a serene and inviting atmosphere. The interior is tastefully decorated featuring a blend of seaside charm and modern amenities. One of the highlights of this rental house was the direct beach access just steps away from the back door. The rental agent deserve special recognition for her outstanding service from the moment we made the booking until the end of our stay. Her attentiveness and professionalism was truly remarkable. She went above and beyond to ensure that everything was taken care of, and that we had a seamless and memorable experience. The owners even helped us out so we could watch our favorite sports team!!! We cannot wait to return to this little slice of paradise.

If your goal of vacation is to be able to get away from people, swim and snorkel in the backyard and wake up to crystal clear water in the morning then you should stay here. The house had everything you need for cooking, kayaking, and doing laundry and the hosts were very responsive and nice. We didn’t use the bedroom upstairs because it was just 2 of us, but the house had plenty of room.

As everyone has stated, the area is beautiful and relaxing. An amazing place to get away from the hustle and bustle. The house is quite lovely. Clean, beachy modern decor and cozy, well stocked and lush outdoor plant surroundings. We are in our 50’s and the only downsides were, more storage and towel hooks/bars in the upper bathroom (we made due), more importantly were the beds and the little support in outdoor cushions. Everyone has different preferences and I did not read anything about the comfort in previous reviews. Probably because of the awe of the outdoors and the house itself. With that said, beds are very important to some. They were soft and springy. Too soft for us. With the looks online I thought they would be higher in quality and comfortable. All the outdoor furniture was trendy yet not comfortable. If the cushions would be replaced with thicker ones, that would help. We brought our own floats which helped after waking up with a neck and back ache. We were out all day and after the long day, we’d try to find a movie. That didn’t work as there aren’t a lot of channels. They are regular flat screens. Adding Smart tvs would be a nice touch. Then we’d log into our own accounts. All in all it is a great place to stay. Just an FYI if you need a firmer mattress. It is a beautiful place to stay!

When we booked the property, it seemed too good to be true, but it in fact was not. Our trip to Spanish Wells/Russell Island was everything we wanted it to be. I can use a few words: relaxing, beautiful, safe, and peaceful. The property was perfect for our small family (2 adults, one 8-year-old). We spent most afternoons wading and swimming at low tide, or kayaking when there was more water. Evenings were spent relaxing with drinks and looking out into the water. The home was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay fabulous. We will be back!

The house had a great island vibe, lovely indoor and outdoor space, great amenities, from kayaks to kitchen utensils to bottled water, and the property management team couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating, even as we experienced travel issues coming and going (literally).

If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing Bahamian getaway this is it. The location is spectacular, amazing sunsets and crystal clear waters. The pride of ownership in this property is evident. This was our third stay and the home is a immaculate now as it was on our first stay over 4 years ago. The only problem? You better book fast because this little gem books up very quickly!

My children 6 and 9 jumped right in and started snorkeling! The yard is amazing almost out of a story or movie. The layout of the house was perfect for our family! We spent most nights cooking what we caught at home and venturing out for ice cream nightly at Papa Scoops! We had great lunches out and even on bad weather days we enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the weather! It is not our 1st time in the Bahamas but our 1st time in Spanish and at drift away but we are already trying to find dates to come back! Sarah was helpful and fabulous to work with! Traveled to Spanish Wells for the first time to celebrate our 5-year wedding anniversary. We honestly had no idea what to expect and were worried about getting from the airport to the house, even though Darrin had assured us that taxi, ferry and golf cart rental had been taken care of.
As soon as we walked out of the airport, Calvin with Pinders Taxi was waiting for us with a sign showing our name. Not only did he drive us to the ferry, but he also loaded our stuff on the boat and drove us over to the island personally!
Upon arriving to the island, Sarah (Darrin was out of town) was waiting for us with our golf cart and chauffeured us to the beautiful home! The house and location were awesome, as was suggested by the many other reviews.
We couldn't be happier with the entire process and stay. Sarah was in constant communication with us the entire time and made sure all of our needs were met, including getting back off of the island and to the airport (in a tropical storm/hurricane no less).
Thanks to Darrin and Sarah for everything. We will definitely be coming back and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else unless we absolutely had to. If we have to stay somewhere else, it will definitely be a property that is under Darrin and Sarah's management portfolio!
