Our stay was great. Everyplace in town was easy to get to. The kitchen was well equipped. We spent all of our time enjoying the back porch. The house was in need of a deep cleaning. The towel rod in the upstairs bathroom kept falling off the wall. The smoke detector in the bedroom to the right of the bedroom kept chirping so we took it off as per the instructions from the manager. It would be helpful if the brochures in the basket and the information binder were updated. We love Mt. Gretna and hope to return in the future.

Start the day with coffee on the front porch. Plan your day, read on the porch swing. Group photos on the front porch stairs. Game nights in the enclosed back porch. Family friendly cabin. Enjoy.

The house was beautiful. We enjoyed walking to the jigger shop and park with the kids. The lake was not in view and was more of a pond than a lake and was not included with the rental. Our biggest complaint was the cleanliness of the house and property. The shower curtains were dirty, and the downstairs glass shower had mold. The house was covered in dust, and the walls were as well. Outdoor furniture had to be wiped down before sitting on them. The wicker seat was broken, the doorknob to the bedroom with two beds kept falling off, and light fixtures were missing bulbs. They only gave us one key with three adults to use which was an inconvenience. The neighborhood was peaceful and family friendly.

The location of this house is very nice, nestled in the woods, near a lake. Our kids enjoyed the playground close by. We used it as a base to go to Hershey Park, which is about 25 minutes away - it was nice to come back to a quiet location after a busy day at the park! The beds and pillows were comfortable, we just had to bring our own sheets. When we arrived at the house, it was much dustier than expected - not sure if it hadn't been occupied for a while, or if the cleaning service only focuses on commonly used surfaces without paying attention to walls, window sills, lamps, corner cobwebs, etc. A couple people in our group have dust allergies, and they were negatively affected from the start. It was also quite dirty under the beds (dusty, found old socks, garbage, etc.), so these areas are clearly ignored by the cleaning service also. Parts of the house were in general disrepair - some of the blinds/shades were broken, a leg on one of the nightstands was broken, a slat from the porch swing was broken. One safety issue - anyone 6 feet tall or more is at risk of hitting their head on the ceiling at the bottom of the stairs going up to the second floor (happened a few times to members of our group). With some extra cleaning and maintenance work, this would be an awesome house!

This home was perfect for our family getaway. Less than 30 minutes from Hershey Park and walking distance to the Jigger Icecream shop. We enjoyed walking in the gorgeous neighborhood of historic homes. This home has so much charm and the large front porch was great for relaxing and enjoying time with family. We would absolutely rent this home again! Check in process was very easy, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

As of now you have to stop at Penn Realty ( < 1/4 mile to house)to get the key and drop it back off when leaving.

Everything worked except the TV cable. But, we could still stream and use services. The fireplaces seemed like they could use some maintenance and removal of old ashes.There were puzzles and games that were entertaining.The front open porch and rear enclosed one were nice. It was just a little cold to get much use out of them.

Freedom Hunters' volunteers enjoyed staying in a relaxing home away from the Harrisburg show. It was quite a jaunt to the Farm Center, but it was nice to get away and the view of the lake is beautiful.

Fun family time

We have been visiting Gretna for over 35 years and this cottage one one of the best in terms of size, modern conveniences (dishwashers, laundry, first floor bath) and roominess and location. The sunroom with fireplace is a great feature. Highly recommend!

Beautiful place. Very spacious. Great cabin feal. Parking for 4 pickups right beside the cabin. All appliances worked. Furniture was fine. Front porch is fantastic.

This was rented for my daughter, son-in-law and grand children to attend a local surprise birthday party for my wife. We couldn’t have chosen a better place. Lots of space. Clean and hassle free. We will be back.

We loved the rustic cottage, plenty of space, great location, all important parts of the house were clean. Some spider webs, but we can get over that. We would return.

House was great. Plenty of room and both porches very inviting to relax and play games. Neighbor Joe was very friendly and thoughtful with nice conversation. Lake facility was a great gesture as it was hot and we swam and played volleyball! Will definitely be returning next year thank you to Ashley for her help with booking

Couldn’t have been more relaxing. Morning coffee and puzzles on the front porch, concerts in the theater, long walks and reading by the lake. The house was well stocked, and my idea of a lake house in the woods.

Property had everything listed and was clean. Property manager was very nice and polite. Very quiet surroundings and a nice playground right across the street for the kids. Will be staying there for years to come.

Couple loud guys on the tennis courts one evening and some repetitive service vehicle traffic would be the only negatives. Not enough to keep us from coming back.

The house is like a step into the 1980s. No updates and squishy mattress. But a glorious front porch and setting.

We had a wonderful time.

This was our second time at this lovely home. Plenty of room. Kitchen is well appointed and has plenty of kitchen wares. Wonderful front and back porches. Close to local rail trail and hiking trails. The one drawback is no grocery store nearby. Would definitely recommend this home.
