Very comfortable, clean and great location.

The photos don't do this property justice. It's much bigger & brighter than it looks and the outdoor space is perfect - we even had people stop on the corner to ask us how we got so lucky. Amazing location, just across the street from a large, beautiful sandy beach. Good layout with bedrooms toward the back, away from the street. Large, well equipped kitchen and loads of beach stuff, including for kids. Super convenient to have the parking spot as well. Really loved our stay. My only feedback is that is seems checkout is actually earlier than the listed 10.30am... we began getting texts & calls from the owner at 8.45 and by 9.30 she was on site trying to hustle us out. I was already frazzled trying to pack up with a 4 year old in tow and I'd promised him he could visit the beach one last time, so having to rush around like a headless chicken instead and leave 45mins early without the promised goodbye to the beach made for a challenging last morning to say the least. I wish the actual departure time had just been communicated upon check in, as I would have packed the night before and not promised my son his beach goodbye. I'd love to stay again but would just assume an 8.00a departure and plan accordingly.

Walking into this home was like walking into an Instagram influencer vacation. This is the the quintessential beach dream vacation home. There is something so special about this place, you just automatically sink in. On the practical side, it has every single thing you could need for your vacation from a fully stocked kitchen (tools, pans and such) to the perfect stocked garage for your trip to the shore, (beach chairs, umbrella, wagon, toys) EVERYTHING. We had a few interactions with the owners including a special visit from her son who so generously came and invited us to come watch the neighborhood fireworks on the 4th of July. This stay was a pleasure from start to finish and I truly hope we get to go again in the future. 10 out of 10

Pros Location close to beach access, great for viewing sunsets and people watching. Great outdoor space - deck w/fire pit, dining area and grassed area. Large off-road parking space, easy to unload baggage from vehicle into house. Lots of beach items in very good condition - we noted 6 chairs, 2 beach umbrellas, plenty of kids toys, boogie boards and a wagon too. Interior of house decorated in a beachy theme and was quite well equipped. There are a few steps from living room to kitchen, then kitchen to bedrooms, so not all on one level but very manageable. Laundry room was great for doing a midweek wash and pods were provided. Good lighting in the house and showers had good water pressure. Owners living next door, so close if any issues arise. Both very friendly. Prompt communication. Possible Cons - The beds were a little too soft for us with the mattress toppers, but others may find them OK. Noise from the road can be loud, but you have to expect that given the close proximity to ocean. We got used to it after a couple of days. Overall a great place for a beach holiday.

We were looking for a place close to family and close to the beach. The house fit the bill exactly! A great vacation for us. Comfortable and easy to access and park. Friendly owners and quick to assist. One note, it can get loud on the 101 with the cars driving by.

Very special house. 100 yards from the beach. Great patio. Views from living room. Owners were special. Carlsbad is best beach. Bike trail, walking trail, surfing....just across the street.

Pam the owner said she is working on this, but the water was turned off by the city for the entire day for over 12 hours that we couldn’t shower use the restroom it’s not my idea of an ideal vacation situation I feel I’m entitled to a refund for the inconvenience! I had to book a hotel for that night so that we could shower sleep use the restroom and then get up and be someplace the next morning that was part of our plan for our vacation. I couldn’t take a chance of water will be turned on and when I spoke with the men working on it , they also they had no idea when it would be back on they couldn’t guarantee anything.! So i am out an additional 280.00 for a hotel room on top of the night at the house i paid for Its not right or fair!

My wife and I had a wonderful time here. Right across from the beach! Great kitchen and outdoor space. Only a short walk to Carlsbad Village. Communication with the host was great. We will stay here again!

This house was great! Super clean all the way around! Ocean view, nice deck and lawn to enjoy watching the surferS. The management was very helpful and friendly and a phone call away! Definitely will stay here again!

We had the best time at this property! Well stocked, wonderful owners, and the location can't be beat. Easy walk to the beach and downtown. Perfect sunset view from porch. Legoland is a short drive and the Zoo was under 40 minutes. Wonderful family rental, will most definitely return.

This property right across the street from the best beach in Carlsbad offered a welcome respite from cold weather on the east coast. The house was tastefully decorated and the private driveway parking spot was a plus. The outside patio area was great for relaxing, and the beds were comfortable. The house is located on the main drag so there is some traffic noise but it's not too bad. I usually visit my family in Carlsbad twice a year and would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I stayed for a week and really enjoyed this home. The location is amazing! The sunsets are so fun to sit outside and watch! Al and Pam are very nice owners!

This beautiful historic home is across from the ocean. You can see the breakers from the original front window; watch the sunset from chairs on the lawn or cross one street to walk in the sand. Very comfortable, relaxing spot. Owners highly responsive to the few questions we had. Highly recommend!

Pros: * location to everything - beaches, other counties, LEGOLAND, zoos, etc. * private parking spot on site for a large vehicle (Tahoe/Truck) * it’s a minute walk to the beach * high water pressure * fast hot water * 2.5 bathrooms * kitchen area is big with a gas stove * In room wall AC units * the landscaping * front patio area - watch the littles it has sharp cutout corners around the plants * everything you need for the beach is in the garage * the beds are comfy * gas grill, fireplace & firepit * the side yard where you park has a cute little garden for veggies & fruits (I don’t know if you can eat them but it’s so cute & kept our little guy busy) * full size washer & dryer - with plenty of pods to wash your clothes Neutral: * the owners live next door * a contract is required after you complete your booking via Vrbo * the house has a lot of nuances * all the cleaning supplies are easily accessible in the event you need to clean up the sand * plenty of in room trash cans to help clean up the sand * lots of windows to open & cool the house down when it isn’t humid or super warm out Cons: * it’s a reallllly busy corner - watch the kids closely! * the entire house could use some TLC * No central AC - just a fan unit that we never got to go below 78 * the futon couches - not something to curl up & take an afternoon nap on. *** don’t forgot - LOTS of sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, & baby powder (it gets all the sand off). *** The beach is front of the house is a much less touristy area - compared to where the village is.
