Excellent location right on the beach. Fantastic view of the ocean from master bedroom. The house is laid out nicely with common areas on the ground floor and 2.5 bedrooms on 2nd floor. Perfect layout for 1 family with 2 or fewer kids. There were games and puzzles at the house but nothing for younger kids so you'll have to BYO if you have youngens. The contents of the house are museum-like, with nearly everything being labeled and the significance/history explained. The family obviously has deep roots in the area. Our first night there were sustained 50 mph winds coming off the ocean and the master bedroom shook pretty significantly, which was concerning, but you couldn't feel it much downstairs or in the back of the house where the other 1.5 bedrooms are. Absent the abnormal weather, there were no concerns with the house. There are several rules and expectations of guests which were well-communicated and which we were all fine with. The only bummer was that the gas fireplaces were off-limits, which we would've liked to use given the chilly weather. Sheets/towels/beach chairs and more were included -- you just need to wash what you use which seems reasonable. All in all, a unique and great property with unbeatable location.

We enjoyed our stay here, the location of the house is amazing! The hosts were very easy to reach & accommodating to a special request we had. We loved walking around inside & reading all the history on the items in the house. Definitely will be staying again.

We loved this house and the location on Manasquan Beach. it was roomy and comfortable for 4 -5 adults. We enjoyed reading all the "exhibits" and seeing the historical artifacts in the house. We would definitely consider returning to this rental!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The front balcony (master bedroom) overlooks the ocean, our favorite spot to relax. The house was well equipped with everything we needed/wanted and had amazing history for the area and this beautiful family home.

It was great to celebrate a special birthday with special friends in this lovingly restored beachfront home. The house was clean and comfortable, the location can’t be beat, and there were many interesting small details that helped us learn about the history of the area.

Wonderful experience engaging with Kent and Nancy during the rental process. Both houses were cleaned and well stocked with essentials. There was a lot of kitchen / bath items left from previous tenants that were a bit overwhelming, but we simply stuck to our perishables / condiments / toiletries. Location was perfect for our teen surfers. We enjoyed reading about the history of the house and seeing how it was rebuild after Sandy, particularly as we are locals and lived through this time. My husband even enjoyed reading one of Kent’s books! Our MANASQUAD had a wonderful time. Thank you!

Thank you Nancy for making your wonderful house available to us for the week. The history of your house, and what it means to your family, is evident and it was a real pleasure to become a tiny part of that history for the week. We had a very relaxing time with our three teenage girls who thoroughly enjoyed the easy access to the beach, the comforts of the house and of course the ice-cream shop across the street. The part of town is mainly residential and the beach by the inlet is frequented by surfers, with the crowds and larger parties staying further north up the beach. Thank you for all the useful information peppered around the house. It certainly took any guesswork out of everything and allowed us to treat the house with the same respect that you clearly do. Hopefully we will get the chance to visit again at some point in the future. Thank you again

Great house and great location.

The location was fantastic, right on a quiet, sandy beach. One morning we saw a pod of dolphins swimming up along the coast. Watching the constant activity; walkers, joggers, surfers and boats was a delight. The planting of grasses in the front and back was thoughtful and correct. The house is filled with personal items, of particular interest to small children. This made our stay much more challenging than we needed. The selection of used condiments and toiletries left from previous renters was unnecessary and overwhelming. Overall, the whole family enjoyed our stay and the adventures we shared there.

Nancy and Kent are lovely hosts who take pride in the history of their home in Manasquan. The house has been in the family for close to 100 years and they share the history throughout the house. The house is very clean and comfortable. My daughters, their friends and myself had a wonderful stay and the location was awesome. The only feedback I would provide is that the home is probably not suited to young children due to the number of artifacts that the family has displayed. I had to keep reminding my daughters even though they are adults. We definitely enjoyed the use of the home and experience Manasquan.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this beach house. The location is fantastic, right on the beach where you can watch the surfers. Handy cafes nearby. Beach passes, bikes and all sorts of other things included. Highly recommend!

who hasn't dream of living on the beach. This hoe was perfect!! Clean, comfortable and full of history from the shore. The owners, Kent and Nancy are very welcoming to their guest. Their love for their Manasquan home is evident everywhere look. You will love it too.

My family of three had the greatest time staying here. The house is in tremendous shape! Cozy , clean and has the classic charm of an oceanfront shore house. I could stare at the views from the balcony and front porch for weeks and not get bored. The added bonus of the surfboards, boogie boards and beach chairs were a huge bonus. The owners instructions were very clear and everything went great from check in to check out. I cannot speak highly enough of how much we enjoyed our stay.

This is how to make lemonade out of lemons. This family cottage was destroyed in Sandy but was rebuilt with love and attention to detail as an updated version of what I remember as a Manasquan Beach House. No oversized "mansion" here. The home is beautifully designed and constructed. And you can't beat the view!
