Das Oakland North ist ein historisches Wahrzeichen, das 1927 erbaut wurde und ursprünglich als Mendelson's Oakland Hotel bekannt war. In den 1970er Jahren wurde es in zwei separate Wohnhäuser umgewandelt und die nördliche Hälfte bietet über 2200 Quadratmeter schönen Wohnraum. Es gibt vier geräumige Schlafzimmer (zwei Queensize-Betten, ein Doppelbett und das vierte Schlafzimmer verfügt über zwei Etagenbetten) mit zwei komplett renovierten Badezimmern.

We love staying at the Oakland North! We have stayed here before and love this place. The owners are welcoming and responsive and their home is gorgeous, cozy and luxurious. The place is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking, entertaining, and relaxing. Out the front door is a view of Lake Michigan and gorgeous sunsets over the lake, and out the back is a view of the marina and the town across the river. There are also cozy outdoor spaces for relaxing both front and back. The neighborhood is awesome for walks, with the beach and the riverwalk right outside. This home is also in easy walking distance from a beautiful park, the marina and charming downtown South Haven. If you're more adventurous, there are also a number of great parks and trails nearby. We were lucky enough to catch the end of the fall color on this trip and took a leisurely hike in a nearby nature preserve - truly beautiful! We look forward to our next trip to South Haven! My family and I stayed at this property and had a wonderful time! The location is unbeatable- 2 minute walk to North Beach and an easy walk into town. The house comfortably fit 7 adults and 2 children and was very clean. The living room was spacious and the kitchen was updated. The back deck made for a great second outdoor hang out for the family. The host was easy to communicate with and the check in/out process was seamless and easy. Would stay again!

The Oakland North was perfect for our group of three couples and four teenage girls. The girls loved being together in the bunk bed room. The beautiful beach is just a block or so away. Fun shopping and restaurants nearby. We spent part of a day in Saugatuck which is just a short 20 minute drive north. Highly recommend!

The house was just beautiful and had everything you could need. It was large, beautiful and homey. The kitchen and appliances, as well as the upgraded bathrooms were amazing. The host was very communicative and available for anything we might need but they supplied more than we needed. We will definitely be back and rent again. It was a short walk to the beach and close to restaurants, brewpubs and the other places like Saugatuck and Douglas that we like to visit. South Haven has such a nice beach as well as great restaurants, shops and bars. We loved the bakery right down the street.

This property is right across the street from North Beach in South Haven, Michigan. This is our second year renting in South Haven. We love this area - so much to do. This neighborhood is safe, quiet and close to the beach, playgrounds and marina. The house is a renovated 1927 hotel. New and old together in this property. 4 BR upstairs. 3 Bath. Works for a crowd. We had 9 people - extended family group.

Very cute place to stay with easy access to beach and downtown South Haven. Family room into kitchen set up was great. Front patio area was a huge bonus to sit out with drinks and watch sunset. Very clean and tidy. Definitely would stay here again.

South Haven a Summer Beach Gem
Oakland North was a well appointed and well located place to stay in South Haven. Our family's week enjoyed a delightful summer vacation there only a block or so from North Beach. I can easily recommend this lodging.

Great place for a family vacation
We (and our kids) loved the Oakland North! Great location (short walk to a park and even shorter walk to the beach), and great space for children to play both inside and outside. Ideal sleeping setup for families, as there are multiple rooms that can accommodate couples and our kids loved the bunk beds!

We enjoyed our stay at this house. There was plenty of room for everybody! If and when you get new beds I would get king beds in my opinion. We are use to king beds so the beds seemed small. The great thing is your right down the street from Lake Michigan (like 1 min)! This place is awesome!

Michael is a wonderful host. We had a issue with dirty dishes but it was probably done by previous renters. Michael didn’t know about it till we told him. It is a wonderful location and a great place to stay. I would stay there again.

If your family is anything like mine, you'll love the open layout of the first floor. We were able to cook while talking to everyone in the living room and at the card table. Every pot/pan you'd need was provided as well (its the little things). So nice! The smart TV in the living room had Spotify, Netflix, you name it - such a nice amenity you don't realize you miss. Plenty of seating and blankets on the first floor.
The beds and pillows were all new and super comfortable. Great water pressure in the shower. Multiple washers/dryers which I'm sure are great for summer rentals. Walking distance to town. You can see the lake out of the front door and the Black River in the back. We loved it, just wish we could have stayed longer!!

This was our second stay at this property. We returned because our last experience was so good. This time was just as positive as the last time. The property is ideally located in South Haven for everything that our group wanted. It’s close to the beach for wonderful walks as well as downtown for shopping and restaurants. The building is vintage, solid (no squeaking stairs), remodeled inside to modern standards, well appointed with decorations as well as furniture and well kept. The large sectional couch in the living room was our favorite place to sit for hours and talk. Our other favorite place in the house was the kitchen. It has great appliances and utensils for cooking. Food and eating is very important to us. Ours is a group of adults who get together every year to enjoy a weekend and this is a perfect place for us. Michael, as before, was a pleasure to work with. Responses to any questions were immediate as well as accommodating. Without hesitation we would stay here again.as

Great family house!
We really enjoyed our long weekend at this house with some of our kids and grandkids ! Lots of room to spread out. We loved the history of the house and the character. So close to the beach we walked there a few times each day and walked to Bunde’s Bakery every morning. Owner was always quick to respond to questions! Very clean too!

We All Love It!
I have rented a number of South Haven summer homes. This year, my daughter, son-in-law, son, and almost 14-year-old twin grandsons got to The Oakland North (our first time) before my husband and I did. He and I were greeted with huge smiles and shouts of THIS IS FANTASTIC! IT'S SO NICE! HURRY UP AND COME IN! And so we did to a week of clean, comfortable, spacious, well stocked accommodations. We appreciated the washer and dryer, the parking in the back for two vehicles, the front porch and lawn sitting areas, the back patio with its sitting and eating area, the grill, the grassy play area, and the lovely flowers. There's WiFi, cable TV, books, and games. One can easily walk to the beach, downtown, and all places in between. Michael Biedermann is a pleasure to deal with. The very best thing I can say is that we're going back to the Oakland North next year!

Great house and wonderful location
This was our second year in "the big yellow house" as dubbed by our grandson. The house is spacious and comfortable. The yard area is perfect for little ones and the front patio perfect for people watching. We walked everywhere - the beach, the marina, into town and around the neighborhoods. I highly recommend this property.

Our stay at the Oakland was a wonderful experience! The accommodations were everything we needed and then some. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the place was extremely clean when we arrived. We had beautiful views of the harbor and only a two minute easy walk to the beautiful north shore beach. Its a very spacious home with plenty of games and movies for the family to play and watch on rainy days. Its also an easy walk to down town South Haven which has lovely shops and great restaurants! The Beterman family are wonderful hosts and provide a great vacation experience! We highly recommend this as a place for a great family vacation or a get away with friends!

Amazing Retreat!
I am a writer and needed some time away to write and refresh. The Oakland North was the perfect place! First of all, the owner is very easy to work with and accommodating, so everything just fell into place. Second, the house was very clean, neat, and cozy. It was exactly what I needed. Plus, it's just steps from the beach, where my heart and mind feel restored. I highly recommend this house!

The Oakland North was the perfect rental for us! The house was beautiful and well maintained, and the location was perfect. We could easily walk back and forth to the beach or pier. There was plenty of space for out whole family to relax, and my little boys loved the outside shower (with hot water). The bedrooms were all a nice size, and it was great having two bathroooms. We will be back next year!!

Perfect house!
The Oakland North is the perfect place for a great getaway! The house has so much history and charm, not to mention that it is stocked with more than just the basics, including toys and games that kept us entertained for hours. Both the front and back of the home have beautiful views, and the back deck is the perfect place to gather at the end of a fun filled day. The beach and the marina are just short (minute or two) walks from the house (both literally right down the road). The owners are amazing as well and provided great and quick feedback and tips as we got ready for our trip. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation home and/or location. In fact, just a few days after we got back from our trip, we booked the same house for our vacation next summer!

Gorgeous House and Perfect Location
This place was amazing, with lake views and a very short walk to North Beach (a 2 minute stroll), and about 15 minutes walk to beautiful South Haven downtown. Plenty of room for entertainment, and nice bedrooms. It has a nice backyard and has views of Black River from the back deck as well. The description of the property is very accurate. This is my second time renting from Michael and Karen, and they are extremely responsive and friendly. I would definitely rent from Michael again.

We started a new family tradition with our stay in South Haven. Oakland North was the perfect place! With family members from 3 to 50+, it fit all our needs. Just steps from the beach and minutes from downtown - it was perfect!

TRULY AMAZING
I cannot say enough about this house and the location. This was my first time to Michigan and I am so happy that I picked South Haven. I absolutely loved this town and this amazing house. Everything we could have possibly wanted was supplied here, (even the sunshine and fantastic weather). It was so much more than I ever expected. It was very close to the beach and the lighthouse. We walked the beach every day and evening and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. The owner, Michael, went out of his way to make sure we were able to visit South Haven, even though I booked this property at the last moment. I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting South Haven. We can't wait to come back again!! Thank you so much.

Could not have been any better than this. Location to everything was terrific. The home was perfect for our family with teenagers and young children. Very comfortable home with everything we needed including a great yard and swing set paly area for the little ones. They spent lots of time climbing, sliding and swinging. We will certainly stay again, hopefully many more times.

Amazing Vacation Home!!!
INCREDIBLE vacation home!!! Our family rented this home for a week to spend time on Lake Michigan and we LOVED the entire experience. Michael was extremely helpful before our trip to make it easy and convenient for us! The lake home was updated, extremely clean, beautiful, comfortable, kitchen stocked with everything we needed, linens/towels/bedding great, beautiful landscaping, great back deck and grill and a great view of the sunset sitting out front of the home after a day at the beach!!! Lake Michigan was a very short stroll away from the home and no steps to worry about. We were amazed at how close we were...if you forget anything once you get to the beach...just a quick minute back to the house...no worries!!! We were nervous about the distance to the Lake but once we arrived, we realized we were even closer to the beach than we imagined!!! BONUS! Our first morning there, I woke up to watch a sailboat on Lake Michigan go by as I looked out the front window! Very nice! Behind the house is the Marina to walk through and view the boats. We took walks down the beach every day to the pier to watch the boats come in and out...great location! We've rented vacation homes in the past but the whole family agreed that this is where we want to be again next year!
