Hotel Papendal

Staff were pleasant, room very basic but clean.

We were there to visit 82nd anniversary of the battle of Arnhem thinking the hotel would be central for all the places we wanted to visit. We had to use a lot of buses & trains and unfortunately the hotel was out of the way. Buses were hit or a miss, trains were great. The price of a taxi from Arnhem to the hotel was approximately 40 euros. My advice stay in Arnhem if your wanting to see the sites and use the train service

No fridge in room

The hotel is located in a very quiet area and offers a large, free parking lot. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the Wi-Fi performance was great—video streaming worked without any issues. However, there are very few power outlets available for charging devices like smartphones. Our room only had three outlets in total, one of which was used by the TV, and there were no outlets next to the bed. There was also no electric kettle in the room. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering everything you need: bread, rolls, various versions of cheese and cold cuts, yogurt, quark, and fruit. For those who wanted it, you could also make a full English breakfast, as baked beans, bacon, fried eggs, and sausages were provided.

Location was good - I was active in Oosterbeek during my stay and it was minutes away Food was nice for what I did eat

Plug sockets in stupid places and only a couple of them - one above the light switch at the entrance to the room - what are you going to use that for and one in the bathroom for what, just shaving?
