Beautiful setting

There was an odd way of charging for breakfast. It was included in your stay unless you wanted to change anything available on the menu. My colleague ordered sourdough and a poached egg with avocado. The sourdough was without any butter, and teh avocado was dolloped on the side and the poached egg - overcooked and had to be returned) was also just plonked on the plate. She was charged £1.50 for that! I however had a full vegetarian breakfast with far outweighed the quantity of her and mine was included?? Just doesn't make sense. Either include a full breakfast or don't. The gentleman on the reception when I arrived was an absolute delight. A breath of fresh air. He was happy to see me, helpful and attentive. A real asset. The room was clean and comfortable.

The young staff were too busy on their phones in the evening to clear our table, we had to chase for our bill also and ended up giving up and took payment to them in the end. Not very professional or attentive.

Rather small room and bed, breakfast disappointing compared to the dinners

A peaceful setting not too far off the M6 to break our trip up north. A lovely breakfast with plenty of choice.. will use again when coming this way..
